Two Republicans — Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska — continued their support for abortion by crossing the aisle to vote with the Democrats against the bill. Meanwhile, three Democrats — Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Bob Casey Jr. of Pennsylvania, and Joe Donnelly of Indiana — broke ranks and voted with Republicans in favor of the legislation. The vote split along similar party lines in 2015, the last time the Senate considered similar legislation.

Among the Democrats opposing the legislation were several from states that voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election: Jon Tester of Montana, Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters of Michigan, Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Doug Jones of Alabama, and Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota.

Abortion at passed 20 weeks are generally due to medical issues with either the mother or baby. Some women will literally die if the pregnancy isn't terminated.

why should it bother any state? The States already have their own laws determining what week of pregnancy to cut off abortion access in their on states.... there is one state that has their cut off at 6 weeks and one at 12 weeks pregnant and many already at or below 22 weeks...

There are 9 states that have no cut off at all, and they are primarily conservative or libertarian states like Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Alaska, West Virginia etc...

Also, most abortions are done in the first trimester, 14 weeks and below.....something like 90% from what I've read....

My point, is the States already determine for their own citizens what their cut off will be....REGARDLESS of what gets passed in the US congress.
