Delta objects to new Georgia Law. Can you say “Fascism”?

A law that is actually good. The company I work for is cancelling it's contract with Delta. It's a multi million dollar international contract Lol. These companies that bow down to and cower in fear to a small minority are about to figure out that the majority sword slices way deeper.

Good.. Do they also have contracts with Coca Cola and the Masters in Augusta?
The Masters isn't going anywhere, Gomer Pyle...They have exclusive rights to the name, the venue, and everything else associated with the tournament...And they're famous for not caving in to craven mobs of assholes.

How soon until Biden and Dems require the Nazi salute?

Trump supporters are the Nazis. The attempt to supress the vote proves that.
what attempt?

Try laws in Georgia for example. This is aimed at blacks who vote heavily Democrat. A second target is suburban counties who also supported Democrats in heavy numbers.
The law in GA that expands early voting? Well...it's really targeted at all citizens...but it expants early voting...so not sure how that suppresses votes

The number of drop boxes has been reduced. In Fulton County, that could mean a drop from 38 to 8. Clearly they are hoping that people will be forced to go home because they are thirsty or hungry.

"

From 2008 until 2016, Georgia consistently placed between 47 and 49th in a national survey of general election wait times. Georgia voters also experienced the third highest increase in wait times between 2014 and 2018. Based on recent expert analysis, Black neighborhoods wait 29% longer to vote relative to white neighborhoods in the same county, and residents of Black neighborhoods are also 74% more likely to spend more than 30 minutes in their polling places. (Any wait time over 30 minutes is considered voter suppression, as defined by the Brennan Center for Justice.) In that same analysis, it found that the average minimum wait time was up to 8.5 times longer (51 minutes) in polling places where minorities constituted 90% of active registered voters as compared to polling places where 90% of the active registered voters were white.

Research has proven that long lines deter people from voting in future elections and undermine confidence in elections. Long lines also impose a monetary cost on voters from missed work, paying for child care, and lost productivity. So, not only are long lines more prevalent at polling places with large concentrations of minorities, in urban areas, and in poor neighborhoods, but the downstream impact of long lines are disproportionately felt in those communities as well."

Funny how Corporations are now weighing in on laws, and now making political statements.

Civil rights groups have filed lawsuits against the state of Georgia, saying it was an example of “blatant racism, represents politics at its very worst and is clearly illegal.” On Wednesday, 72 black executives signed an open letter calling for American corporations to join the resistance.

To “join the resistance”? Is that like an insurrection? The recently voted in legislature made the law. What happened to respecting the election and its outcome?

Coca-Cola also came out to make their political statement on the subject.

What’s next? Firing employees that voted the wrong way?

Fascism is here.

Corporations opposing anti-democratic laws ain't fascist.

As if the rube Trump cult would know what fascism is after supporting the anti-democratic, lying, race-baiting, authoritarian, rube, conspiracy theorist who tried his clown car coup best to overthrow a free and fair election!

Blacks in Georgia are free to vote like anyone else.

They have more hurdles to overcome. Many blacks face witing for hours to vote. The majority of the polling places that the state has closed has been in majority minority areas.
Why is everything based on color for you? You’re such a flaming racist.

Because it is a fact that minority voters lean heavily Democrat. The lawsuits largely concentrated on throwing out minority votes.
I disagree about the lawsuit. 40% of the country believes there were shenanigans so why not tighten the rules? Minorities lean Democratic because that party panders to them.

The Airline industry has gotten 40 Billion in Covid stimulus money. They want to be able to select who serves in Congress or the Senate.

Why does that change the issue?

Lots of seniors can't stand in line for hours regardless of color.. Some have canes, walkers and wheelchairs. Pregnant women also have difficulty standing in line for 4-6 hours. Poor Americans of any color may also have transportation issues.

Do you want to prevent them from voting?
Get an absentee ballot to vote.

I have for over a decade, The GOP opposes mail in ballots too.
Mass mail in where ballots are mailed to out when nobody requested the ballot is ripe for fraud. It has never happened before until this last fake election. You do realize that absentee ballots are mailed in? The difference is that you as a registered voter must request the ballot.

There is no evidence of that. Somed stateas run their elections entirely by mail and have experienced no nassive cases of fraud. Nost states sent out absentee ballot requests.
Indeed nassive loL

took those states 10 yrs to perfect the process

There has been no evidence of massive fraud in those states in the last 10 years. The DOJ found no evidence of massive fraud that would have changed the outcome in 2020. Two US Attorneys in Georgia found no evidence of massive fraud in Georgia.
I know but sometimes you have to follow your gut and the naked eye test. Where there is smoke there is fire and statistically something was rotten with the 2020 election process in my view so the more checks and balances we put in the better it will be.

There was no smoke. The only smoke is from you lying assholes. The Georgia law is not a check and balance. It is about suppressing the vote. There is no compelling state interest to ban people from receiving water while they are waiting in line.
well first...nobody is banned from receiving water while waiting in line.

There is a complying state interest in allowing people to be free from being bothered by other people while waiting in line...when Minn created a far more reaching law then this law, (and nobody claimed racism or said a word) the law was challenged and went to the SCOTUS, and the Court ruled 7-2 that the law was good, and in their reasoning states: " We see no basis for rejecting Minnesota’s determination that some forms of advocacy should be excluded from the polling place, to set it aside as an island of calm in which voters can peacefully contemplate their choices. . . . Casting a vote is a weighty civic act, akin to a jury’s return of a verdict, or a representative’s vote on a piece of legislation. It is a time for choosing, not campaigning. The State may reasonably decide that the interior of the polling place should reflect that distinction. " Minn. Voters Alliance v. Mansky

Here's the Minn law: No one except an election official or an individual who is waiting to register or to vote or an individual who is conducting exit polling shall stand within 100 feet of the building in which a polling place is located. Minn. Stat. § 204C.06

"The only other state that prohibits the delivery of food and drink during an election in some form is Montana, but specifically if it’s coming from a candidate, political party personnel or volunteers, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. No other state has such legislation so far."

Also Georgia's law is far different from Georgia. here is the Georgis law.
" 150 ft. of the outer edge of the building where a polling place is established, or within 25 feet of any voter standing in line "

They specifically set a zone around the voter as well as the polling place. Minnesota does not do this so it is untested in any court.

Even Lindsay Graham admits it is stupid.

In an interview on "Fox News Sunday," the anchor Chris Wallace asked Graham: "Senator, why on earth, if Americans are willing to wait for hours to vote, would you make it a crime for people to come and give them a bottle of water?"

"Well, all I can say is that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me," the South Carolina Republican responded. "I agree with you there."

I provided Minn law for you..the actual law...it clearly does. your link is wrong

Minnesota law does not ban the handing out of water. Georgia and Minnesota have 2 different laws. The NASL says no state forbids handing out of water to voters with the exception of Goergia and Montana in a limited way. The NASD is non-partisan and you are not. I suspect local p[rosecutors will not pursue any cases.
Why can't they bring their own H20?

Yes it largely is a black thing. A large majority have been in minority districts.
But you obviously have no facts to support your claim

well the new law fixes those old problems! yet you object to it...clearly you want long lines

and the law allows for water and food..anyone can bring their own...and moreover you can donate as much as you want! just give it to the pollsters to put to make it available to everyone within 150...or give it to people 151 feet from the building that aren’t in line!

It does not fix any problems because there were no problems to fix. TWO US Attorneys saw no issues. The only issue was Trump lost and this is a voter suppression bill designed to prevent that from happening.
wait you have just gone on and on about how there was a problem with long lines and low polling stations...there was a problem or there wasn't....

um i just highlighted the law...it certainly does...yes they are different...Minn is much more strict...and I also highlighted the SCOTUS ruling in the case challenging the Minn law...highlighting that there is a state interest in banning...ANY contact wiht the voter

If you believe a prosecutor won't purse any case in GA...then why are you whining about the law?
