"Decolonising" curriculums is all the rage now in education.

Bullshit! They are as different as night and day.
Not when it comes to the leftwing brainwashing
When will you realize that the vast majority of the county does NOT follow a liberal curriculum of brainwashing ?
Yes it does.
There are far too many teachers on this forum to try to pass that bullshit!
Your experiences must have been different from mine. I was a reading specialist and consultant for Grades 1 thru 7. Thirty five years.
Where?

A major city in Ohio. What and where was your experience?

Actually, the textbooks are selected by a group of teachers on a committee, many of which are left wing sympathizers. Only in the parochial schools, do they take a conservative view of the content and often mixes it with biblical views. There are just a certain number of publishers to select from.

the publishers of school books RESPOND to the "market" demand

That is true to an extent. They also have a book series that is more advanced when compared to another. Often schools buy two reading series, one for the more challenged student and the other for the more advanced child. The book for the challenged youngster probably won't have the same social engineering components to it.

Chances are a major city has liberals in control. True?

That's odd. Our textbooks are selected by the state school board. That is just another bullshit assumption you are making.

How many facts have you been wrong about? The count is getting very high.
Text books are published by only a few companies in America and those companies cater to the largest and most liberal buyers such as california and new york

so a relatively few liberal wackos can have a huge impact on our education system

Once again you are incorrect. The textbooks are from Texas.

The textbooks are from Texas.
are you claiming textbooks printed in Texas are used in California?
No matter where you live, if your children go to public schools, the textbooks they use were very possibly written under Texas influence. If they graduated with a reflexive suspicion of the concept of separation of church and state and an unexpected interest in the contributions of the National Rifle Association to American history, you know who to blame.

When it comes to meddling with school textbooks, Texas is both similar to other states and totally different. It’s hardly the only one that likes to fiddle around with the material its kids study in class. The difference is due to size—4.8 million textbook-reading schoolchildren as of 2011—and the peculiarities of its system of government, in which the State Board of Education is selected in elections that are practically devoid of voters, and wealthy donors can chip in unlimited amounts of money to help their favorites win.

Ever since the 1960s, the selection of schoolbooks in Texas has been a target for the religious right, which worried that schoolchildren were being indoctrinated in godless secularism, and political conservatives who felt that their kids were being given way too much propaganda about the positive aspects of the federal government.

How Texas Inflicts Bad Textbooks on Us

I recall that their work has made the news and I don't like the tampering of content areas in favor of liberal influences.

Unfortunately, I think the godless libs in Austin and california have a greater influence over textbooks than Christians have

Another good reason to send their children to parochial schools.

another personal anecdote from my youth (yawn) ---
My ninth grade "SOCIAL STUDIES" teacher was a
vibrant, fairly young woman (circa early 1960's)
One day she was conversing with a "student teacher"--ie a kid from teacher college OBSERVING. She was
explaining how to REPRESENT "russian" politics.
It was an "US VS THEM" talk. I was passing by and STOPPED to listen. SHEEEEESH it sounded so
CONTRUED to my baby ears. SUDDENLY SHE STOPPED TALKING and looked deep into my eyes.
I was not a brave kid-----I went away. Well---all
nations do it

And its another reason why liberals are so opposed to school choice

it threatens their access to children and denies them the oppertunity for lib brainwashing in the public schools
