Your Imagination
Right now in the US we have at one end of the socioeconomic spectrum, people who go generation to generation getting themselves and or their children declared disabled in order to eek by on $674.00 a month for each disability. A little more if you are lucky enough to live in a state that sweetens the reward or you were 'able' enough to have worked for at least 10 years at a job that was taxed. Just human creatures taking advantage of the rules as best they can and managing to thrive in a society that spends only a little on educating the young of the less fortunate. Not a huge issue percentage wise, mostly just a pain in the ass for folks who really do have the shitty luck to become disabled and the current good fortune to live in America when they do.

At the other end of the spectrum we have people and organizations who control enough resources to truly have an undue influence on the rules we all have to live and work by, wielding like a sledge hammer a political system that is built on confusion and corruption that is legal because all 'legal' means is that the rules are obeyed. Have you SEEN the rule book we've got? Yikes! :eusa_think: Maybe hiring the guys that we pay to interpret the rules also to write the rule book was not such a good idea.....

Between them lies a stressed middle class that is getting tired of all the fucking rules.

History grinds along, both greased and gummed up by commerce that continues to flow without discrimination through good, evil and all shades of grey character decisions. A harsh and rewarding river flowing merciless through time while all the gods except Profit stand impotent on the sidelines.

Sooner or later, suddenly or slowly, the current system is going to change.

Anybody wanna bet a dollar that our decedents a thousand years from now won't read about us in their history books with the same distain, disgust, wonder, romance and inability to relate as we see in the crusades?

The current Status Quo, like all his ancestors, is destined to die. If a quick death is slow enough, our children may just read about us while reaching for the stars.

Exciting times, eh?

It's a well written opinion, I'll be the first to admit...

And generally supported by most 'big picture' analysis of our circumstances at least and pretty darn factual at best...

But no arguments culminating with my eternal demise in a fictitious hell? :wtf:

Good GOD, it used to be easier to start a debate in this forum!

:eusa_think: Is today a republican holiday?
