i was hitch hiking from Lansing or Ann Arbor back to the U.P. in about the late 60s with a friend . We finally stopped hitching because of no traffic because of the Blizzard . We were perched under a bridge over pass , underpass or what ever and would step out when we saw the dull glow of headlights . Only significant thing to my story is that this was the second time in history the The Mackinaw Bridge had been shut down to traffic . We ended up hanging around some hippies living room in the nearest town for a few hours and were then taken to a High School Gym for the rest of the night . And then , headed North to the UP in Marquette Michigan the next morning .
