Current COVID-19 Mortality Rate: 1.35%

It will be solid red before this ends..........2009 known cases were 62 million.......You might as well throw a can of Red Paint at it...........IT'S COMING......

Can't wait for my case of sniffles.

Will I get a button after I recover ?
Some it's the sniffles......others not so much.....but the majority get mild symptoms and walk away...........to the elderly......it is a killer.

Can be a killer.

160,000 people die each year from lung cancer. Now that is a killer.

People that have underlying problems are also at risk. We need to really be careful with them. But until a vacine shows up, they will have very different lives.

American are finally starting to see how the MSM has been distorting death rates and mortality rates in order to create panic
Trump cultist regurgitating spoonfed AM radio talking points....

And you taking a shit from your keyboard.

There will be 100 books written on this.

And more than one will be an expose on what a fuck up our MSM has been.

They have been truly pathetic.

Plenty of killers out there.............plenty of TDS mental midgets posting like the Troll MENTAL KILLERS.

They remind me of a saying.

I like to hit myself in the head with a hammer........because it feels so good when I stop.

American are finally starting to see how the MSM has been distorting death rates and mortality rates in order to create panic. The 2019 flu is nasty indeed, but not as nasty as the panic created by the MSM and lefties. There is not much political juice left for the MSM to squeeze out of it, which is why the gig is over.

Time will tell. If New York turns it around...that will be a good sign.

Even the MSM can't spin that one down. And Cuomo has a need for good news.

If this heads north in terms of numbers....different story.

Right now, the statistics beg the question as to why the fuck we are locked out of our offices.

The “increasing quickly...tomorrow it will triple” flag has been run up the pole for 10 straight days but it continues to hang limply

Aww, the cultists are having a support group. Adorable.

Meanwhile, back in reality:

The first reports of overwhelmed hospitals are starting to come out...

Yes, it does have a very low mortality rate.
The highest is Italy, with 4%, and Germany has kept it as low as 0.4%.
So this is not the big threat some fear it might have become.
China shows the total is not that bad, since they are over it mostly.

But what we DO have to remember is that COVID-19 is not going away.
Everyone will get it eventually, if not this year, then in one of the following years.
And it will get more lethal over time.
The safest way to get resistance is to get it sooner rather than later.
However, if they get a successful vaccine, that would be best.
we do not know the actual mortality rate because we do not know exactly how many people have had the virus and recovered without seeking medical assistance or who met the threshold for a Dr to recommend they get tested
The same is true for the flu.

The same metrics are being used here.

The coronavirus is 13.5 times more fatal than the flu.

No, it is not. The fatality rate of the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus when dividing confirmed deaths by confirmed infections is about 3%. In the US, there were 3,433 confirmed deaths and 115,318 confirmed infections. This, of course, ignores the massive number of people who caught the flu that year and were never tested and never got that sick. This is also happening with the Coronavirus.

The figure of .03% fatality rate is when you take the WHO estimated 300,000 worldwide deaths divided by the estimated 1 billion infections. Do you really believe a billion people actually tested positive? How many people do you think they tested, 2 or 3 billion? All they can do is estimate the number of likely infections.

The website WorldoMete shows 528,000 cases. But that is not active cases. They show about 145,000 recovered. Not hearing much about them....

So active cases is still below 390,000. Out of seven billion people.

No, it does not show 528,000 cases - it shows 528,000 confirmed cases.

The number of cases is probably five to ten times that, maybe even way more.

Pick a low number, 1 million. Unencumbered, the number of infected doubles every 2.5 days. How long, how many days until you've reached a billion? Tell us!

And keep in mind, the more prevalent that virus becomes, the more likely it is to mutate, likely rendering the next vaccine useless. Then, during the next winter, we're facing the exact same catastrophe, again. Perhaps it's time to get your oxygen-deprived head out of your flabby arse.

Fascinating. You do know the experts know all that and more, right?

So why do you think they are warning us about how much worse covid-19 is than H1N1?

Liars, incompetent, or both? That's a serious question.

When I checked yesterday, the mortality rate in Italy was 9.5%. Today, it's just over 10%, undoubtedly attributable to the health care system being overwhelmed. Think about the implications! If hospitals in the US become overwhelmed with cases due to a lack of hospital beds, ventilators, respirators, not to mention a shortage of protective gloves and masks for the hospital staff, and the staff becomes ill, the deaths from the virus in the US could climb into the millions.

Oh really, stop. It is SOMETIMES brutal.
Thank you Captain Obvious. Unfortunately those "sometimes" are enough to overwhelm our health infrastructure, which would result in many more people dying or falling seriously ill than otherwise would, with proper care.

Looking like a serious flu season, for which we shut down our entire economy.

This per Dr. Fauci. Gosh, looking tough for you guys in November, eh? But good luck with Joe Biden. Top of his game, right?

Yes, it does have a very low mortality rate.
The flu, which Trump and the Hive Mind stupidly compare to COVID-19, has a mortality rate of 0.1%.

1.35% is 13.5 times more fatal than the flu.

So the next time you hear a Trumptard talk about the umpteen thousand people who die each year from the flu, multiply their number by 13.5, and that will explain why we should have reacted much more quickly and with greater force to this "hoax".

You aren't comparing the same types of numbers. Flu mortality isn't based on actual counts, but statistical analysis of the data from a given season, based on the reporting of hospitals on flu deaths and flu cases. They adjust the case# based on historical precedent to count the people who don't go to the hospital but still have the flu.

Also skewing the numbers is the availability of a vaccine, mostly taken by those most at risk, which results in a lower mortality AND hospitalization rate, but we don't know if both numbers are impacted equally.

In the case of COV-19, the only hard numbers we have is deaths and positive test cases. They don't have data on overall infections, so they can't "adjust" the case number like they can with the flu.

Total deaths/Total cases = 1.35% mortality rate in the US.

This is from the CDC site TODAY:

The fatality rate is much lower than 1.35%

that number is based only on the known chinese virus cases

many more go indetected

It’s actually around 1.9 percent now. New York hospitals are at maximum capacity now, so it’s only expected to increase
