Cuomo: 'Umm...whattaya know....it works'

What people who are against this drug discount is that doctors treat other illnesses with off label drugs all the time. The FDA is not the end all be all. They put my mom on hydroxychloroquine the the same night she went into the hospital. They did so even before her test came back positive. They looked at her chest X-ray and evaluated her symptoms and knew she had COVID19. They didn’t even ask her or the family, they just put her on it. Doctors believe in this drug. That counts for something.

I’m sure you can point to examples of high level politicians other than Trump expressing an opinion one way or the other about the off label use of drugs. Right?

And. Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she recoversfully.
Why must everything be about politics?

As Trump said, you can't wait two years when someone is on their deathbed. Would any of us want our family members to just pass away without any attempt, eve if it was a Hail Mary?

Bureaucrats everywhere don't care, they have tunnel vision and it's not helping anyone. Trump isn't an ideologue, he knows trying to save a life is worth it as a last ditch effort, from medication that is widely approved and doesnt harm otherwise; rather than just shrugging your shoulders, "sorry ma'am, you're going to have pass one, we haven't had this approved yet". How morbid.

Sign the disclaimer and try and live for the love of God.
Seems like the liberals on here would rather see their loved ones die. Than to agree with Trump, sad to say.

"There is no clear evidence that the drugs (chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine) work against the coronavirus, despite their use by hospitals and doctors in the United States and other countries since the outbreak began. Their antiviral properties have been proved in test tubes, but rigorous clinical trials to test their effectiveness in humans have not been completed.

Limited studies on coronavirus patients have been published by researchers in France and China, but their extremely small size and other problems prevented them from being statistically significant. The French study included a combination of hydroxychloroquine with the antibiotic azithromycin that showed benefit in six patients, results that Trump has touted. Another study in 11 patients in France showed no evidence the regimen works. A Chinese study also showed no benefit over the standard course of treatment."

The world will always be a risky place full of :ahole-1:'s like you who make it unnecessarily more risky.
Because he hates Trump. If obama came out in the beginning and stated the drug had promise. Berg would say it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Yupp!
Because that's how punks like him roll.

Tell you what, if you are on your death bed with COVID-19, refuse the medication hydroxychloroquine. Maybe it helps and maybe it won't. But you stick to your guns that orangeman bad, you show him up and don't take it. That will show him!
I'll tell you this:
If I'm on my deathbed the last person in the world I would consult for a medical opinion is the incompetent, brain-dead, pathological liar in the White House.

Senate Republicans have no excuse for their piss-poor coronavirus response. No excuse whatsoever

"The first sign the Trump administration might be taking the novel coronavirus seriously originally came on Jan. 31, when the White House issued a ban on travelers from China and declared the public health emergency Schumer had been pushing for.

"However, Trump spent the entirety of the next month downplaying the threat.

"At a Feb. 10 campaign rally, Trump declared, 'Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away.'

"He mocked 'Cryin' Chuck Schumer' on Feb. 25 for urging Trump to ask for more than $2.5 billion for an initial supplemental to respond to the novel coronavirus.

"On Feb. 26, Trump predicted at a White House briefing that in a couple of days the number of coronavirus cases in the nation would be "down to close to zero," adding, 'that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.'

"Mission accomplished."
Schumer was busy impeaching Trump, nice try though. Oh, and calling Trump a racist for shutting down travel. One more thing, keep you promise if you get on your death bed over this. Let that hatred over one man, send you own to hell. That much hate in one person is why this country is divided. Dang man get a grip and be happy for once.

After being one of the many Trump-haters bashing the President for suggesting the antimalarial drug be used by doctors to help treat / save patients infected with COVID0-19 before formal drug trials have been completed, NY Gov Andrew Cuomo stated in today's Press Conference that the treatment is working.....'anecdotally'.

"New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo(D) said Monday that early responses to the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine “anecdotally” suggest its use in the coronavirus fight has been “effective,” but that official data was still forthcoming.

Asked about the progress of the trials at his daily press briefing, Cuomo noted that state officials have allowed use of the drug in combination with the antibiotic Zithromax in hospitals “at their discretion.” He said the federal government would increase supplies to New York pharmacies, but that New York has imposed a 14-day limit to protect the supplies for people who rely on it to treat other medical conditions."

"President Trump has repeatedly promoted the drug as a treatment for the virus despite lack of approval by the Food and Drug Administration for that use in the long-term or comprehensive clinical trial data, although the agency has granted emergency approval for use with a prescription."

If you or a loved one are extremely ill, potentially dying, from COVID-19 and there is a drug out there already approved to fight malaria that doctors / scientists believe have a good chance of being used to treat this virus and save lives, do you really want to wait for the CDC / government to conduct comprehensive clinical trials to confirm it works....or do you want to allow doctors to make the call in order to save lives?

It's working.

The President didn't just pull this drug out of his ass - he listened to experts / scientists / researchers / doctors. They/ He are / were right. Let the doctors make the call. You're welcome NY / US.

.

So, nothing has changed.

trump is still a giant douche.

He didn't say it's working. Those who received it used other treatments as well. You have no victory to claim.

Even Schumer was smart enough to know Trump was too stupid to become POTUS:

The drug cocktail is working.

What's not working so well: ventilators

Comparing ventilators to drugs makes no sense. Ventilators are always a last resort when the patient isn’t capable of breathing on their own, even with oxygen tanks.

I just can't sometimes here. Once in a while, I just can't
Think maybe? That appears to be so. You don’t use the drugs as a substitute for ventilators, like you were suggesting. Idiot.

Drugs have different functions. Some just manage symptoms, some are meant to cure and yes, some are meant to mitigate life-threatening reactions, etc.

So just like using a ventilator, some drugs mitigate life-threatening reactions. Like giving epinephrine to someone who's in anaphylactic shock. It's not a ventilator because it's not a machine, but it has a life saving property. Like a ventilator. So do a lot of other drugs that open up the airways

OMG. Listen my mom was just in the hospital with COVID. Her oxygen levels went down to 86. As soon as we spoke to the doctor her told us he immediately put her on Hydroxychloroquine(plaquenil brand name) and azithromycin And gave her 6 liters of oxygen. He said if she’s not improving or getting worse than he will try steroids. He said the last optionif her condition worsens is a ventilator. No doctor is saying we need drugs in place of ventilators. You always need ventilators as a last resort

Zinc is an ion, Rosie. It cannot enter CELLS on its own. Sure you can get zinc into the body, but zinc needs to enter the cell to disrupt the RNA replicase of the virus. Would you like to see the science on this or do you want to keep being ignorant and wrong?

If one has covid-19 and needs invasive ventilation, his chance of survival is 50%.

Some suggest even less than that. Your point?

The point is no doctor is going to say let me give the patient meds instead on putting the patient on a ventilator. The ventilator is the last resort
