Criminal alien arrested by ICE for Double Murder after California Law Enforcement Fails to Honor Immigration Detainer

The alleged perpetrator, Fernando De Jesus Lopez-Garcia, is a repeat immigration offender with a significant criminal history spanning back nearly 15 years that includes convictions for battery of a spouse, assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, battery of an officer, and vandalism. On Nov. 22, the San Jose Police Department arrested De Jesus Lopez-Garcia for two counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder, battery on a spouse or cohabitant and violation of a protective order. Officers from ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) lodged an immigration detainer with the jail the following day.

Okay, here's the underlying problem, buddy. ICE doesn't have anywhere to lock these folks up, and they expect local prisons to hold these people when they don't have the room, either.

So they let a wife-beater go because they have real criminals to lock up. The kind of decisions that jails make every day because they are overcrowded, understaffed and now we have COVID in the mix where we don't want to lock people up and create petri dishes of mass infection.

Want to be able to concentrate on deporting the bad apples? Fine. Let's resolve all the undocumented immigrants who are living productive lives.
How about just enforcing our laws???

Why should the Democrats care, since they insist the illegals never vote????

Operation Wetback - Wikipedia

Operation Wetback was the culmination of more than a decade of intensifying immigration enforcement. Immigration enforcement actions (removals and returns) rose rapidly from a low of 12,000 in 1942, to 727,000 in 1952, the final year of the Truman Administration.

Harry S. Truman | U.S. President & History | Britannica

Respected by his Senate colleagues and admired by the public at large, Truman was selected to run as Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s vice president on the 1944 Democratic ticket, replacing Henry A. Wallace. The Roosevelt-Truman ticket garnered 53 percent of the vote to 46 percent for their Republican rivals, and Truman took the oath of office as vice president on January 20, 1945. His term lasted just 82 days, however, during which time he met with the president only twice. Roosevelt, who apparently did not realize how ill he was, made little effort to inform Truman about the administration’s programs and plans, nor did he prepare Truman for dealing with the heavy responsibilities that were about to devolve upon him.

Roosevelt died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage on April 12, 1945, leaving Truman and the public in shock.

Just as I thought - can't defend your weak feelings. Feelings are not facts.

You are dismissed.

Your racism is just a feeling. The fact is the little brown people aren't going to hurt you.

I love All God's Children.
I've gotten jiggy with women of all Races

All they have to do is follow our laws.

It will be interesting to see your retort now that your race card has been played you seem like a one-trick pony like all the Communist we've had to kick to the curb

lol. Isn't right wing fantasy wonderful. Right wingers used to vote democrat or we would have never had a civil war.

Ok, what the hell, let’s play this game. Let’s pretend that they turned the guy over to ICE, what would happen? Would ICE lock him up for ever? Nope. They would deport him, again. And he would return, again. Your own link talks about him being deported several times. So how does deporting him again, help matters? ICE took him into custody? Why? Why would ICE get involved now? Now, it is a State Criminal Matter, not a Federal Immigration Matter. The State will try, and with sufficient evidence, convict, and sentence him for the crimes. Just like they do for anyone accused of a crime.

So why is ICE arresting the guy now? Are they planning on deporting him now, and letting him off the hook for the Murders?

So, once again, Democrat policies are getting Americans killed.....

Criminal alien arrested by ICE for Double Murder after California Law Enforcement Fails to Honor Immigration Detainer - Conservative Daily News

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Two people are dead after the Santa Clara County Jail ignored a detainer lodged by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and released a dangerous criminal alien back into the community. ICE maintains cooperation with local law enforcement is essential to protecting public safety, and the agency aims to work cooperatively with local jurisdictions to ensure that criminal aliens are not released into U.S. communities to commit additional crimes. Unfortunately, due to these dangerous sanctuary laws, two more people lost their lives, Nov. 22., allegedly at the hands of a criminal alien and repeat felon, lives that may have been saved had multiple previous immigration detainers been honored.

“Our deepest condolences go out the victims and their families in this case,” said David Jennings, San Francisco ICE ERO field office director. “Here we have catastrophic proof of the abject failure of California’s sanctuary policies. The only person this policy protected was a criminal; permitting him to reoffend over and over again. Had those immigration detainers been honored, or had ICE been notified on any of the other multiple occasions he was arrested and released from local jails, we would have taken him into custody. Regrettably, politics continues to prevail over public safety, the detainers were ignored, and De Jesus Lopez-Garcia was released to the street.”

Sanctuary laws and local policies have failed De Jesus Lopez-Garcia’s victims on several occasions:

  • On July 17, 2019, the Stockton, California, Police Department arrested De Jesus Lopez-Garcia for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, kidnapping, and threatening crime with intent to terrorize. On July 18, 2019, ICE’s Pacific Enforcement Response Center (PERC) lodged an immigration detainer with the San Joaquin County Jail (SJCJ), but on an unknown date, the SJCJ failed to honor the detainer and released Lopez-Garcia without notification to ICE.
  • On Aug. 26, 2019, the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Office arrested De Jesus Lopez-Garcia for local charges, and on Aug. 28, 2019, the PERC again lodged an immigration detainer with the SJCJ. On an unknown date, the SJCJ failed to honor the detainer and released Lopez-Garcia without notification to ICE.
  • On June 9, the Superior Court of San Joaquin, California, convicted De Jesus Lopez-Garcia for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse and sentenced him to 327 days in jail and five years’ probation. On June 26, the PERC lodged an immigration detainer with the Santa Clara County Jail. The jail failed to honor the detainer, and De Jesus Lopez-Garcia was again released into the community without notification to ICE.
  • On Nov. 22, San Jose, California, Police Department arrested Lopez-Garcia for two counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder, battery on a spouse and violation of a protective order.
Clearly it’s US racism that pushed him over the edge and I am sure the psychopathic judges will be releasing him

How about just enforcing our laws???

DEPORT THEM ALL!!!!

Why should the Democrats care, since they insist the illegals never vote????

Well, first it would be inhumane to send people home from communities they have lived in for years. But I don't think you understand that concept, so let's try another one.

Like it or not, our economy is based on immigrant labor... Kind of always has been, that's been the trade off. you come here and do a crappy job, so your kids and grandkids might have a shot at the American Dream. It was the tradeoff when my Grandparents came here from Germany 100 years ago.

Of course, they did it before the One Percenters dismantled the American Dream... but that's another discussion that would be too intense for you.

As a practical matter, we have 11 million undocumented immigrants in this country. We can only deport 400,000 a year. We don't have enough immigration courts to hear all the cases, we don't have enough agents to find them all, we don't have enough agreements with other countries to take all that many of them back.

So even if you kept all future ones out (again, an impossibility) it would take you something like 25 years to deport them all.

Of course, you can't keep them all out. A wall is impractical (Very little got built despite Trump's boasts) and most undocumented immigrants got here legally and overstayed their visas.

What we need is less race-baiting and more practical reform.

What Reagan did in the 1980's actually made a lot of sense. Could you imagine a Republican doing that today? Of course not.

The article states that the last arrest includes battery on a spouse and violation of a protective order, so apparently Joey even thinks that attempting to kill a spouse isn't a problem......

Meh, he got into domestic violence. We don't lock up all the White Trash in the trailer parks for that, either.
Translation: Joey thinks domestic violence is no big deal....

Apparently, you need to get your mommy to read the article to you.....

Nothing there disputes what I said.
Sure it does....

ICE filed detainers, and the jails released him without notifying ICE!!!

That means he was allowed to disappear into the population and run amok (multiple times), instead of ICE taking custody and deporting his ass!!!!!

"Repeat immigration offender". What do you think that means? It means he has been deported and came back repeatedly.
That is why deportees should be tattooed across the face identifying them as having been deported and shot on sight if they return.

First of all, white people are aliens on this side of the planet, second, no human being can be "illegal" no matter where they are on earth.
First off, all people are aliens on this side of the planet--------secondly, humans being are often illegal. If someone you didn't know or invite invaded your home and squatted in your livingroom---I am sure that you would say that they are illegal although CRIMINAL is often a better word.

All because we refuse to address the main reason most come here. Jobs.

Was this person looking for a job? Not likely but when you remove the millions that are, it becomes easier and feasible to address the rest.

A false analogy is merely right wing special pleading and fantasy. The federal Government has sovereign jurisdiction over entry into the Union. The anti-federalists insisted on a Bill of Rights.
