'CRIME OF THE CENTURY!' Trump issues furious statements lashing out at Pence and Mitch McConnell for his election loss

Neither Pence nor McConnell could have done anything. He has to know this, at some level.

Pushing the orange Big Lie for your lard & master, I see.
The problem here is that they are completely serious. They're not kidding, or even lying. They really do believe this stuff. All of it.

A true group pathology, something the world hasn't seen since Europe, 85 years ago.
I'm not so sure that's true for all of them. I say that because, over the years, I've seen conservatives eagerly and enthusiastically jump on arguments that other conservatives make even when the arguments are illogical or even nonsensical. I'd have to call it a political argument pile on. After all, they're clearly not independent thinkers by any stretch of the imagination. They're followers.

The danger of this kind of argument is that even though they haven't proved it, and they never will, it can't be disproved either simply because you can't disprove a negative. It's likely that conservatives who are more educated understand this, and that's why they continue to push the argument because they understand that nobody will be able to prove it isn't true. So, they keep on pushing the argument that the election was stolen, and all the other conservatives do what they always do. They pile on.
So it's more of a game for those people, a tactic?
In a lot of cases, yeah.

Think of all the threads over the years. I learned a long time ago to be highly suspicious of every claim they make. At first I tried to keep an open mind. But if there was one thing that truly surprised me, it was the sheer overwhelming number of false claims, misrepresentations, and wild exaggerations I encountered day after day, and week after week. Eventually, I couldn't give these posters the benefit of the doubt anymore because it was like they were all running plays from the same playbook, and that playbook said to just make stuff up and push it out there. It's little more than a Machiavellian effort because they believe that the end (getting what they want) justifies the means (say anything).

One of the most recent examples that stands out in my mind is the poster who claimed that 120 former Generals and Admirals said that our nation was in deep peril. It had all the signs of an orchestrated disinformation campaign.

Then there was the thread that claimed that Article 2 Sec 1 of the US Constitution stated that only state legislatures could make changes in how elections were conducted. It clearly wasn't true. It's actually very likely that the poster wasn't even aware of it since I had read that somewhere else when I was too busy to check it out. He likely just heard it and ran with it without bothering to check, and I doubt he cared that it wasn't true anyway.

It's simply one more way to hopefully convince someone who's sitting on the fence, and thereby increase the overall numbers of people who are willing to believe that the election was stolen.

However, it IS instructive because it shows that the concept of 'conservative principles' which conservatives are all too eager to mention as if they have very high standards of conduct is pretty much little more than a false advertising campaign to mislead people from understanding just how unscrupulous they truly are.
I'd guess it's most likely that some really believe this stuff and some are just playing partisan games.

When I sit down with clients who are Trumpsters -- so I'm not talking about the politicians, politicos and pundits who make a living at playing games -- I look in their eyes, and these people are just fucking terrified. They've bought into the whole thing, and their misguided and mal-informed paranoia is as real as anything else to them. But they're sincere.

Then there are the politicians, politicos and pundits who are just doing this to advance their own professional agenda.

I'm not sure where to draw the line. I'm always asking questions, though, looking for clues. My guess is that the majority of Trumpsters on this board are like the clients I described -- they're like kids who think pro wrestling is real.

So tough to say for sure.
Yeah, there's a lot of people who believe it. But it's damn sure not because someone has proved it to them or because they've seen any evidence. It's because they want to believe, and they'll never require any evidence to continue believing it.

A lot of other people simply don't care if it's true or not. It doesn't matter to them one way or another as long as they can use it without having to worry about any real repercussions.

The worst of the lot are the people who know it's not true, but they pile on anyway because they see it as a means to an end. They'll be able to pull in more campaign contributions (like MTG), and votes, and hopefully eventually political power, influence, and access to power and money. That's probably how Rudy got sucked in to Trump's orbit.

MTG and Boebert are interesting cases. They strike me as stereotypical shallow, uninformed talk radio Trumpsters who figured they'd give running for office a whack. They live in the right neck of the woods to get elected, and repeated all the right talking points enough times to win.

More on the way next year, no doubt.

One of the most recent examples that stands out in my mind is the poster who claimed that 120 former Generals and Admirals said that our nation was in deep peril. It had all the signs of an orchestrated disinformation campaign.
I can't find anything wrong with that claim

Then read one of my responses to that thread. It's below in quotes

However, before I post it, I should also ad that in an earlier post I stated that I found it odd that retired generals and admirals wouldn't focus in on their area of expertise which was military readiness and preparedness which they had spent 20-30 years of a lifelong career pursuing. I also found it odd that there were no signatures which would be a very easy way of verifying its authenticity. So, why were there no signatures? Could it be because that would constitute fraud if someone uses other persons' signatures without their consent?

"I already acknowledged that it's possible it's true. However, my 20 years of experience in dealing with conservatives on talk radio, on websites, and on message boards has shown me that they have zero qualms about falsifying information, or making claims that are either untrue of are misrepresentations or extreme exaggerations.

Now, in it's current form (a website), it's not possible to verify its authenticity. To put it simply, one person could have typed this up and released it to be picked up by news sources. I also find it highly suspicious that the "letter" seems to be hitting all the current RW complaints like someone is following a check list of some kind.

Socialism & Marxism CHECK
Tyrannical Gov't CHECK
Fair and Honest Elections CHECK
Biden's Mental Health CHECK
Big Tech Section 230 CHECK

It's the last one about big tech that doesn't seem like something retired Generals and Admirals would concentrate their time and attention on. However, it IS something that Trump has talked about, and I have no doubt that a very motivated Trump supporter would include it."

"We like Trump because he's brutally honest."

Again, it is posts like the above that keep me coming back to this show. It's sorta like the Freak Show on the County Fair Midway. If you know what I mean. Or, as an admired friend frequently says....'The Bizzaro Desk'.

So, "brutal honesty' to some sure seems like mendacious falsehoods, misstatements, and untruths to others. Or so it seems.

Glen Kessler of the Washington Post had a long running ...and now famous ....tally of those falsehoods. (ps...they no longer tally Trump's fibs since he left office.). Anyway, Kessler's team birddogged every utterance...be it oral, Twitter, Presser, or interview with Hannity, Ingram, Dobbs, or Limbaugh, et al, that Trump made. And then they 'fact-checked' em.
And, I don't need to tell you .....but Don came across as a pretty prolific fibber.*

So, here's a peek at WaPo's last story about Trump fibbing. And, to overdrive the nail, I added a link to the Poynter Institute's 'Politifacts' most recent collection of Trump's 'Pants-on-Fire' fibs.

So, please peruse both.....and then stand up and assert that "We like Trump because he's honest." (ummmm? who is "we"?)

"Trump’s false or misleading claims total 30,573 over 4 years"
By Glenn Kessler Salvador Rizzo Meg Kelly
Jan. 24, 2021 at 3:00 a.m. EST

When The Washington Post Fact Checker team first started cataloguing President Donald Trump’s false or misleading claims, we recorded 492 suspect claims in the first 100 days of his presidency. On Nov. 2 alone, the day before the 2020 vote, Trump made 503 false or misleading claims as he barnstormed across the country in a desperate effort to win reelection.

This astonishing jump in falsehoods is the story of Trump’s tumultuous reign. By the end of his term, Trump had accumulated 30,573 untruths during his presidency — averaging about 21 erroneous claims a day.
What is especially striking is how the tsunami of untruths kept rising the longer he served as president and became increasingly unmoored from the truth.*

And premier fact checker, Politifacts, has a whole collection of Don Trump’s “Pants on Fire” statements. Here, in this link you can see some of them, but there are a lot more.

Don Trump: “In certain swing states, there were more votes than people who voted, and in big numbers.”

A personal fav of mine about DJT's reputation for, ah, 'fibbing'......is the reporting on Don Trump's own attorneys, in court over some contract breach if I recall properly, stated...to the court......that "Our client doesn't always tell the truth". (or words to that effect).

When your own lawyers tell the judge you are a liar......well, that's really rich, in my view. So, some like the guy because they think he is honest. The Duped and Snookered, IMHO.
Fact checkers of the Washington Compost is as honest as a used car salesman or Demoncrap Congressrat...
I agree with you that they shouldn't be called fact checkers, but that's only because they never had any facts to check. The should have been called BS checkers. That's FAR more accurate.

Think of JUST his DC hotel financials being turned over yesterday by GSA to congress. McGahan has come up with a deal to testify to congress. Cohen just went to see the NY prosecutors (8th 'visit') less than a month ago. Trump ORG's CFO is negotiating a deal to keep him and or his SONS out of jail. That's just what I can think of off the top of my head.

"As our Country is being destroyed, both inside and out, the Presidential Election of 2020 will go down as THE CRIME OF THE CENTURY!" wrote Trump in his first statement, following up with a second that said, "The polls were a joke. I won States in a landslide that I was predicted to lose days before the election," Trump added. "Other states had me purposely so far down that it would force people, even fans, to say "Let's stay home Darling. We love our President, but he can't win." ... It's called SUPPRESSION POLLING and it should be illegal."

"The 2020 Presidential Election was, by far, the greatest Election Fraud in the history," continued Trump. "Had Mike Pence had the courage to send the Electoral College vote back to the states for recertification, and had Mitch McConnell fought for us instead of being the weak and pathetic leader he is, we would right now have a Republican President who would be VETOING the horrific Socialistic Bills that are rapidly going through Congress, including Open Borders, High Taxes, Massive Regulations, and so much else!"

Trump is gone...and you are still desperately, pathetically, holding on and getting triggered by every word he says, every action he takes....

Bwuhahahaha.....

Trump still owns your ass - 24/7 - you can't let him go.

How frighin' sad....and funny as hell.

Now its the same thing - Trump is gone, but Democrats and snowflakes are so obsessed they can't NOT talk about him.

CNN is dead without Trump.

Liberal media is lost without Trump.

The Biden administration is only sneaking by because of Democrat/snowflake obsession with & distraction of Trump.

Biden's failures can not stand up under the full focus of the Anerican people and media, thus the constant division and distraction.

The harm, starting with his 1st election campaign he said the election was rigged(if he lost) a pitch for undermining democratic elections, reaching into the very bottom of the barrel attacking both Republican & Democrats running against him. telling massive lies. Then when winning instead of attempting to bring the nation together he put all his energy into building an it's only me can save you trump party. Giving major political jobs to people who paid with huge donations, but otherwise were unqualified or underqualified. Lobbyist who had been working against the very positions they were now given. And lets not forget major roles to family members with zero experience. And that's just for the 1st few months.

Well-meaning advice from a well-meaning avataree: You should try a 'taster' subscription to the Post. I think you can get a month or so (digitally) via Amazon for a good price.
It is a really quite good news source with original reporting by first class, highly-acclaimed reporters. The Post has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize 69 times. Hint: Just watch how often WaPo's reporting is quoted or featured in a wide wide assortment of newsfeeds....from the Leftfield, the Rightfield, and the middle. Everybody quotes WaPo. Their reporters are frequent featured guests on many broadcast programs....TV, radio and podcast.

Here's what a nano-search on google can reveal for you:
"The Washington Post is regarded as one of the leading daily American newspapers, along with The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal. The Post has distinguished itself through its political reporting on the workings of the White House, Congress, and other aspects of the U.S. government.

So, if you haven't read the Post for a little bit of time, well, then any criticism of it is sorta invalid. Like the guy who hates Ford trucks, but has never owned or driven one.

Whaddya got to lose?

"So...how about Matt Gaetz and MGT going on their "We love trump" tour?"

You know, poster Bodecea, that teaming up by Gaetz & Greene is one of the most bizarre political acts I can ever recall. Akin, maybe, to Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman.

I ain't a Republican (except to go to their speaker luncheons), nor am I a Democrat (except to go to their speaker luncheons), but to be totally honest, I cannot imagine any of the good people I know who identify as Republicans being happy with their Party tying their reputation and gravitas to FratBoy Gaetz and Space Laser Marjorie.

(Didja see the recent video clip of Green shouting into the friggin' mail-slot of Congresswoman Octavia-Cortez' office? Jeeeeezus H. Keerist!.....what a nutter.)

And she gets votes from "Conservatives". But those cannot be the responsible Conservatives I grew up around and know and admire today. Only nutters could vote for that nutter. IMHO.

Anyway, what can the Republican Party be thinking with promoting and advancing those two dunderheaded nutjobs?

I had to roll my eyes when I saw that huge retirement community in Florida, The Villages, invite that pair in for a little whirl & twirl rally.

Real Republicans, real Conservatives, must have choked down their gag-reflex when those two got invited onto the property.

I can't imagine a political Party thinking those two can improve the reputation of Republicans.

Frankly, Gaetz and Greene, simply have to be the Democrat's Dream Team.

IMHO
Dude, when i lived in Cheverly Md, i received the Compost daily, even though we bought the Sunday edition, back then most articles were slanted to make Progressive elites look like angels while they constantly bashed Bush. After a couple of years, i stopped the subscription which then they wanted to know why. I said i can get the same bullshit just watching CNN or MSNBC, while should i spend dollars on such a waste as your "news" paper. It has only gotten worse since i quit reading that shit...
