Sure! They wore masks so they could hide their faces from the cameras. They didn't want to be spotted when they were looting and rioting. Bad excuse.

Many did, though - something to be said for wearing a mask to break windows and loot. The masks are styling, protect your identity from the cops, and minimally has a chance of spreading COVID-19 as you are marching with several thousands of your fellow rioters....
