I saw this one, or one like it. The reasoning was that the man had COVID and was complaining of breathing issues and being lightheaded prior to climbing up to do his work.

Seemed like BS to me at the time, but then something made me think maybe it was not...

My son recently finished Lineman school. He is also a Type-1 diabetic who does a great job of controlling it. But no matter how good you are, you still have highs and lows. On one of his pole climbing training sessions he got low blood sugar while 45 feet above the ground. It was early in the training and he was still a little stressed about being up there and that caused his sugars to drop. A person with low blood sugar is often confused for someone that is drunk or stoned, and it is not a good thing to be at 45 feet. It was serious enough that an instructor noticed and went up the pole to help him down.

Now, had he fallen due to his low blood sugar, would it, in your opinion, be valid to blame that death on his diabetes and not the fall alone?

Today my neighbor died of covid, he was fighting cancer for the last 3 years. At 96 years old, we expected a full recovery from the cancer, even though it was found throughout his lymph nodes.
