Trump's sister in spotlight after NY Times' investigation of family's finances

Barry is mentioned throughout the newspaper's investigation, which says Fred Trump "often" consulted with his then-federal judge daughter on legal matters. It also describes her as present at 2003 meetings at Trump Tower "for one of their periodic updates on their inherited empire" with the siblings and Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization's chief financial officer (who was recently granted immunity by federal authorities).

Beyond the question of whether Judge Barry knowingly participated in an attempt to defraud the U.S. government of tax revenue, the report alleges specifically that Barry offered legal advice to her father. According to the Code of Conduct for federal judges: "A judge should not practice law and should not serve as a family member's lawyer in any forum. A judge may, however … without compensation, give legal advice to … a member of the judge's family."

The question is: Was that advice "without compensation"? That would require a careful analysis of the tax and business records. If she were actively involved at business meetings, it might tend to suggest that there was compensation.

Of the 19 impeachments in our country's history, the vast majority — 15 — have been of federal judges.

Something else no one is talking about. If people commit tax fraud for decades they don't suddenly stop.

The statute of limitations is 6 years unless a crime is discovered that goes back beyond 6 years. As in part of an ongoing scheme.
At the very lease, any crimes committed since 2012 can be prosecuted.

If Democrats take the house, they have subpoena power. Forget the FAKE audit. The reason Trump says he won't release his tax returns. Tax returns is something that can be subpoenaed by the House.

Can't wait.

It's possible, all judges and justices except members of the Supreme Court has a code of ethics. If Trump's sister is complicit, one would expect her to resign before suffering the indignity of an impeachment.

Her brother, however, is more likely to start WW III than to resign or face impeachment.

What you suggest regarding Trumps sister is dancing a very fine line...…..as you said yourself, she can advise family members, but the question comes to $$. As a direct family member, she is entitled to an inheritance which normally wouldn't be viewed as compensation since she wouldn't receive it until after the old man passed...….even if it all happened within a short time.

And all this squalling about tax evasion or fraud or whatever the hell you're trying to call it.....Trump has done, and what many if not most people do is to use tax loopholes to avoid paying excess taxes. Any tax adviser would make similar suggestions. Whether you like it or not, it's not illegal to use the tax codes to your own advantage.

Fun fact: Judge Barry refers to her brother as "P.T. Barnum".

Believe it or not, there are limits.

Trump was the executor.

The statute of limitations may have run out, but not the case for a civil lawsuit.

Many say civil lawsuits are difficult to win. But the amount could be anywhere between 200 million and 400 million. If the state can prove Trump, as executor, illegally devalued the estate to avoid paying taxes, it's Trump who would pay the largest amount.

So how hard would this be to prove?

All of the assets are still there. It's all real estate. It's all documented. And much of the documentation is already held by the state. I know. I own a two flat. They have everything. Deed, audit, and the entire history of the property.

Reporters have already gone all through this documentation and vetted it. If they didn't, they could be liable for slander and defamation.

I suspect the state, if they can collect a couple of hundred million, they will.

Fun fact: Judge Barry refers to her brother as "P.T. Barnum".

Trump's own father in his later years knew that his son, Donald was a fuck up and had him removed as his power of attorney and as sole executor of his will.
Trump's idiot supporters have yet to learn that.
