"Ben Collins, who covers disinformation, extremism and the internet for NBC News, faced fierce backlash for a series of tweets pointing to a persistent toothache as a major factor in the racist Buffalo mass shooting. The shooting suspect —said in an online manifesto that he was inspired by a racist ideology called “replacement theory,” — But Collins’ thread began in different territory, noting that “The Buffalo shooter had a toothache.” Over the course of a dozen tweets, Collins wrote about the suspect’s radicalization via white supremacist disinformation and that persistent toothache, which the shooter blamed on “the Jews.”

Reminds me of the theory that if Hitler had access to paint supplies, he may have continued his pursuit in art instead of exterminating six millions Jews....apparently, Hitler was just misunderstood and his hatred of Jews was really based on his lack of access to affordable paint brushes....Or how Jeffrey Dahmer didn't murder all of those people because he was a sick evil fuck -- but because he had a stomach ache - and couldn't afford to see a gastrointestinal specialist.....Or how the El Paso shooter didn't shoot all of those Hispanics due to his fear of being replaced by them -- but because he was promised he would get a better deal on video games at Walmart than he would at Target -- and felt betrayed by the Jews.....

The passion some folks have to find every way in the book possible to excuse something for what it really is -- is nothing new...but this reach of an attempt to try to blame this on a toothache as some sort of appeal to class reductionism is pathetic...No, this murderer didn't do what he did because of a toothache, this murderer had access to a dentist....this murderer's parents make over 200K a year and he was on their insurance plan....this murderer could afford an aresnal of weapons, bullet proof vests, recording equipment to live stream his murders and a car to drive 300 miles to do it -- so it WAS NOT because of a fucking toothache...this belief that folks are only white supremacists because of "economic anxiety" is bullshit.....people are that way because they are hardwired to be that way....in fact, these same folks will VOTE AGAINST ANY POLICY that addresses their so-called "Economic Anxiety" the minute they believe "those others" benefit from those same policies.....stop finding ways to excuse evil just because you identify more with the perpetrator of that evil than you do the victim of that evil......

You forgot one of the most recent examples, why?

If anyone doubts whether the "news" industry is out to create stories that don't exist, just look at this toothache.

He was not fleeing police...him leaving the scene of a domestic dispute was made out to mean he was fleeing police pursuit, but he wasn't...even if he was -- it doesn't excuse the fact he plowed into a crowd full of innocent people...

Now was his motivation for doing that tied to some "left wing" conspiracy that his position of being the racial majority in this country is under attack and he is being replaced? Nope.....

Now your turn......did the guy who killed those people in Buffalo do it for the reasons he said he did it for "racist white replacement theory" -- or for a toothache?

The real issue here is this piece of shit could not get laid. He will get laid in prison, hope his parents send him Vaseline.

That was my point.

Also, I wonder why this story died so quickly?

Probably the reasons he listed.

Another successful cherry picking expedition. One guy bringing up a factoid about the nut case Buffalo shooter is not the "news industry" trying to create an alternate narrative. If you want a prime example of that, look at the George Floyd production that ran non-stop for MONTHS on every Liberal news outlet in the country.

The bigoted hateful negro who ran over all the white people had an ass ache.

He was ass hurt with envy.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the killer get off scot free because he had a toothache. He will get off scot free because he won't be executed. And the state (you and me) will fix his tooth as well.

SO what your sayin is.... if Bob Ross hadn't found his niche as an art instructor, he very well could have been some mass murdering despot. I always kinda did have that feeling.

If you ever notice him painting trees -- you can clearly see if it wasn't for that paint brush, he would be a mass murderer for sure....

He could easily be perched in one of those trees with a sniper rifle

Your hero, Micah Xavier Johnson just needed an artistic outlet and he would not have killed all those people, much to your displeasure.

Whenever I had a toothache I didn't want to do much of anything, never mind going out and killing people.
