Coronavirus Codswallop -- By the Numbers

By Brian C.Joondeph, MD

Excerpt:

“Codswallop” is one of those interesting words that might have been used by Supreme Court justice Anton Scalia in a dissenting opinion, or by conservative intellectual William F. Buckley in describing some liberal policy.

It’s a British expression that refers to words or ideas that are foolish or untrue, in other words, nonsense.

While codswallop is a good description of the entire Democrat agenda, today I will restrict its use to the hysteria surrounding the coronavirus outbreak, media fearmongering, and resulting public panic.

Big media is all about ratings, view, and clicks, hence their axiom, “If it bleeds, it leads.” A viral outbreak is the perfect story, on par with a missing Malaysian airliner or a celebrity football player named OJ on trial for murder.

The added bonus is that any negative news can be laid at the feet of a president loathed by the media, who just so happens to be running for reelection. The media is in full campaign mode, trying desperately to drag the carcass of one of their corpselike candidates across the presidential finish line.

America are being mislead and lied to about Corona Virus, it mainly a threat to people over 50 years of age, and to anyone who already have a significant underlying health issue, the rest of us will either fight it off easily, or have strong flu like symptoms, but recover.

The current recovery rate is far above the death rate, and that is with a probable undercount of reported infections.

Don't let the scummy media pull you around by the nose, with their manufactured hysteria!

Sheer fucking stupidity. "The current recovery rate is far above the death rate" ... great. More people survive than die. We're good then. :shok:

The survival rate will eventually reach the 90% plus range when it is over, your inability to understand base statistics is hurting you. Meanwhile I take note that you ignore the common Flu season death total, which is over 20,000 people here in America.

So much ignorance to put up with...……...

Wow... so you're saying we shouldn't worry about a disease with a 10% fatality rate?

In point of fact, the fatality rate of COVID-19 is much lower than that. And still far more serious than you realize.

Everyone in the media, and on this forum, poo-poo influenza. Even though it will kill far more people than this corvid19 will.

Guess what influenza has in common with corvid19. More people will recover from influenza than will die.

The fearmongering MUST stop.

Wow. Do you want a bucket of water for your pinhead that is on fire you fucking moron.

I hope a big chunk of the sky lands right on your house!

Pussy.

In point of fact, the fatality rate of COVID-19 is much lower than that. And still far more serious than you realize.

Now you are just lying since the current death rate is about 3.4% (which will drop over time), the recovery rate is over 55% from being infected, which will increase over time, meanwhile the virus is deadly to only two groups the old (mostly over 50), and those with already existing underlying health problem.

You should spend more time reading from official sources that shows what is really going on, the media wants to scare you because they want to make Trump look bad with their misleading, lying narrative. The Media news reporting over Corona Virus are full of shit!

You will learn that this Virus is not a significant concern for age 49 and YOUNGER, the death rate is negligible, while over 50 the rate jumps up to the peak at the oldest age level.

You've convinced me. The media fuss about COVID-19 is just stunt to make Trump look bad. Let's come back to this thread in a few months and chuckle about how silly everyone was to worry about it!

Here is a published paper from Lancet:

Clinical course and risk factors for mortality of adult inpatients with COVID-19 in Wuhan, China: a retrospective cohort study
