Contracts work both ways. If the state demanded something not in a contract the union would have a valid complaint. I'm assuming working from home is not in their contract so they need to go back to work. If they want it in the next contract they can try and get it.

Public unions are IMHO one of the major reasons why this country is so fucked up at the state and local level. Ask yourself why bad cops are not fired as they should be for misconduct. It's because the public unions have used their political influence to make it damn near impossible or at least more difficult to get rid of somebody that shouldn't be wearing a badge and carrying a gun. And how did those public unions get so much political influence? They donate a ton of money to the democrats who are running for office.

My wife is a benefits manager where she works and they have had a hell of a time getting office people to come back to the offices they worked out of for years, now they suddenly have excuses left and right to stay home to work. One woman was because "I enrolled my kid in summer camp, I didn't think we would be coming back to work. This isn't fair"
