Congressman Ryan and the GOP Voted to Cut US Embassy Security

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Utah Republican, said Wednesday he "absolutely" voted for cutting funding for embassy security.

While speaking to CNN, Chaffetz was asked if he had "voted to cut the funding for embassy security."

"Absolutely," he replied. "Look we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We have…15,000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, a private army there, for President Obama, in Baghdad. And we’re talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces. When you’re in tough economic times, you have to make difficult choices. You have to prioritize things."

Paul Ryan and the Congressional and Tea Party Republicans actually voted several times to cut funding to foreign embassy security.

How about you post a thread about the 176 dems that voted for that bill. Or is it your intent to tell something other than the truth?

Excuse? When did a cut in Military funding become an issue in a terrorist attack?

and your defense is if one things is wrong another wrong makes something right?:eusa_whistle:

No, he's just trying to deflect away from obama and his total foreign policy failures being responsible for Benghazi-gate.

When somebody criticizes security after voting to cut it, it's called criminal bullshit

Poor little dantie... just doesn't quite know what to do when his game is exposed... so he just makes stupid comments.

Sorry, boy, everybody knows deflecting away from the real issue is what you liberals do best. But, we don't play those games here son.

Wise up, bubble head.

Benghazi-gate? GOP attempting to make political gains from a terrorist attack on Americans

Used to be Americans stuck together during and immediately after a terrorist attack. No more. GOP Romney was making political claims even before America had the sad news that the US Ambassador and his security/staff had been murdered

Can you say your full of crap, the state department admitted they refused the request from the embassy for additional security. It had absolutely nothing to do with funding, they said they were trying to normalize activities in and around the embassy. Come on tell me that is not the absolute most lame excuse you can imagine for refusing additional security. This admin screwed up, they should admit it and move on. Otherwise it will remain and issue and rightly so.

Well--I imagine that our embassy's in Canada and Mexico don't need a marine detachment--as Ryan mentioned France has--so any prudent person probably would have thought it be a good idea to move that security to Bengazi--on the anniversary of 9/11--to protect those that were in actual danger.

We have a sitting President and Vice President who on the anniversary of 9/11 did not order more security for the two newest Muslim hot spots in the middle east--while knowing full well that these countries were full of Islamic extremists.

"A Terrorist will always seek the least path of resistance"--and they found that path through a very naive and incompetent President in Barack Obama.

The father of Christopher Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya who was killed in the attack in Benghazi last month, said his son’s death shouldn’t be politicized in the presidential campaign.

“It would really be abhorrent to make this into a campaign issue,” Jan Stevens, 77, said in a telephone interview from his home in Loomis, California, as he prepares for a memorial service for his son next week.

Mitt Romney, the Republican nominee, has criticized President Barack Obama for not providing adequate security in Libya, saying the administration has left the country exposed to a deadly terrorist attack.

The ambassador’s father, a lawyer, said politicians should await the findings of a formal investigation before making accusations or judgments.

“The security matters are being adequately investigated,” Stevens said. “We don’t pretend to be experts in security. It has to be objectively examined. That’s where it belongs. It does not belong in the campaign arena.” Stevens said he has been getting briefings from the State Department on the progress of the investigation.

Well when you're lied to over and over again--with the administration blaming some remote unknown youtube video being blamed for the attack and find out that the State Department and the Obama administration are contradicting one another over this incident- with several giving SWORN testimony that they repeatedly asked for more security---it SMELLS like 3-day old dead fish on a kitchen counter. IOW a coverup.

The State Department found the money to send a Marine detachment to the embassy in Barbados, but not a small consulate in Bengahzi, Libya?
