Unfortunately fair and bi-partisan isn't the way Washington works. The Benghazi hearings were all about dragging Hillary through the mud and since then it has been Trump on the receiving end. Politicians only want highly publicized investigations and hearings to knock down an opponent they fear. Talk of investigating all riots is useful only as a diversionary tactic to the Jan 6th hearings and has no legs to stand on by itself. At least by Washington's standards. For the GOP, Hunter Biden more fits the bill as their way to attack the President.

Why are the Democrats enabling race riots that caused billions in damage and took god knows how many lives for over a year, but want a congressional hearing over an a 5 hour event that cost perhaps one million and the only life lost was a protester, Ashli Babbit. We know more about George Floyd. Like that.

One happened for the express purpose of stopping the constitutional transfer of power; egged on by the soon-to-be-kicked-out-of-office loser of an election who was impeached for doing it.

The others happened in multiple cities because of police brutality and opportunistic thugs.

One is definitely in the congressional role of oversight and entry into the official record. The other? Not so much.
