Communism has not been that big a thing in America in spite of the right slinging the term around willy-nilly. Actual self-described communists are usually confined to quiet little discussion groups peopled by extremely boring intellectual types. They don't make waves or march in the streets. Nazis on the other hand are scary people, think prison gang skinheads, not the kind of guy you want for a neighbor. He might curb stomp you to death while a communist would merely bore you to death with explanations of how the proletariat is blah, blah, blah. The Klan should be self-explanatory, they ritual murdered black people for a hundred years.

The US election cycle prevents either extreme from taking a firm foot hold.
