COLDER Greenland GAINS Ice In June – Media Silent

Published on June 15, 2020

Written by Cap Allon

Excerpt:

The month of June is breaking records across the Greenland ice sheet, and not records for warmth and melt –as the mainstream media have trained you to expect– but new benchmarks for COLD and GAINS.

The SMB gains occurring right now across Greenland are truly astonishing.

Data-driven FACTS reveal vast regions to the south have been GAINING RECORD/NEAR-RECORD LEVELS of snow & ice all month.

Never before in June has the Greenland ice sheet grown by more than 4 Gigatons in a single day (since 1981 when DMI records began), but now the past week has gone and delivered two such days — June 3, and now yesterday, June 10.

In fact, yesterday’s gains actually neared 5 Gts — you can see from the chart below how anomalous that gain is for the time of year:

CO2 must be pooped out up there, Jack Frost refuses to stand down!

Media and warmist/alarmists are silent, no heatwave to wail and scream over is why.

The rutting season hasn't begun..... yet, but when it does, it isn't pretty.

Um, no, Greenland didn't gain ice.

This has been explained to you before. The Danish chart does not take calving into account.

This is basic stuff, and all deniers fail at it.

because the CO2 is penetrating the surface and not warming it, but destroying the underwater ice with its warming death ray, right?

Another article you didn't read, because you are trying so hard to be stupid, I am convinced. Here is what YOU fail to read:

and this you didn't read either:

"Greenland’s SMB should be turning negative in mid-June, on a typical year the island should have started losing snow and ice by now — yet it’s currently seeing gains that would be above the norm for any other time of the year, even the depths of winter."

=====

If you had bothered to read the article, you would have learned that the writer is covering a very small time frame, doesn't claim over all mass increase, he focuses on the Greenland surface only, where unusual mass increase this month is breaking records.

I read this a long time ago:

"The Greenland Ice Sheet evolves throughout the year as weather conditions change. Precipitation increases the mass of the ice sheet, whilst greater warmth leads to melting, which causes it to lose mass. The term surface mass balance is used to describe the isolated gain and loss of mass of the surface of the ice sheet – excluding the mass that is lost when glaciers calve off icebergs and melt as they come into contact with warm seawater.

The figures above are updated on a daily basis and show how much mass in terms of snow, ice or water is lost or gained on the surface of the Ice Sheet."

As usual your failure to read the article bites you in the ass.

Each time I think your cult pseudoscience can't possibly get any dumber, you prove me wrong.

Anways, good luck with your theory there.
Are you ever going to explain how atmospheric CO2 can warm the ocean 700m deep?

You expect this fella to answer a reasonable question with a reasonable answer?

He already made clear he has no answer, just the usual empty insults:

OOoooo what an impressive retort!!!!!

I am so unimpressed.....

The northern Rockies had over 2 feet of snow on 2 July and the msm was silent. If the arctic flow persists winter will not leave the upper elevations this year. And so begins a glacial advance.

AGW Chart

Warmer= global Warming
Cooler = climate change
Consensus = Moonbat

Hmm, that can only mean climate change!

sadly indicaters are pointing to early fall and a long hard winter.

You expect this fella to answer a reasonable question with a reasonable answer?

I always do. It's what brings on your tears.

Another article you didn't read, because you are trying so hard to be stupid, I am convinced. Here is what YOU fail to read:

I'll try to use smaller words this time. It won't help, though. You don't understand because you don't want to understand. Like most deniers, you're too emotionally invested in staying stupid.

"The month of June is breaking records across the Greenland ice sheet, and not records for warmth and melt –as the mainstream media have trained you to expect– but new benchmarks for COLD and GAINS.

The data disagrees with that. The surface melt isn't as big as the record melt in 2012, but it's still well above average. Your tales of record cold were fictional. Temperatures have been above average.

greenland_daily_melt_plot_tmb.png

You were unable to grasp that snowfall is not temperature. You looked at a big late snowstorm and declared it was proof of something. It's really evidence backing up AGW theory. Warmer air can hold more moisture, so more snow falls. That's counterbalanced by more melt and more calving, so Greenland continues to shed mass.

I suggest you keep repeating until in sinks in.

Snowfall is not temperature.
Snowfall is not temperature.
Snowfall is not temperature.

Total snowfall and rainfall over Greenland since September 1, 2019 shows that the beginning of 2020 was drier than the 1981 to 2020 average (Figure 3). However, increased snowfall in late April and especially mid-June has increased the surface mass balance (SMB), which does not include glacier outflow, to above average (Figure 4). The additional snowfall is in the southeast. Much of the southern and western side of the ice sheet has less snow cover than average. With summer melt, this can mean that the albedo, or reflectivity, of the Greenland surface will drop quickly, leading to more heat absorption and more intense surface melting. In recent years, intense melting and runoff at the beginning of June have removed hundreds of billions of tons of snow relative to Greenland’s 1981 to 2010 net accumulation, resulting in about half of the total ice lost from the ice sheet each year. A more intense melting event occurred in late June, and runoff is increasing for the year.

The topic headline is:

COLDER Greenland GAINS Ice In June – Media Silent

It is about a single month of June here, which had new records of increase in two separate days.

That is what YOU and Mammoth ignored.

Post one Article remains unchallenged.

When you are arguing with zealots, it's what you should expect.

That is what YOU and Mammoth ignored.

No, I addressed it directly in post #3 and post #14, and Old Rocks addressed it in post #15. Greenland did not gain mass in June It just had one large snowfall event, something common and expected. You lied about that, and got busted for lying. As is always the case, you ran weeping from the discussion and then proclamed victory.

So, the pertinent questions now:

Given how often you lie, why do you still suck so badly at it?

Were you attracted to the denier cult because of your neutered status, or was the operation part of your initiation ceremony?

Frank, Sun Devil, those questions apply to you two as well, so feel free to jump in and answer. Why is it that all deniers are such disohonst pajama bois?

Post 3 with ZERO evidence:

Yes they did for several days it was well above average mass gain, the article isn't being deceptive, YOU are.

DMI website (known this for years you idiot) themselves talks about calving as a separate data, but involves ice leaving the Island, the article is talking accumulation ON the Island.

Strike one.

Post 14 with NO link for the chart.

Strike Two.

Post 15 doesn't help you guys actually supports the post one article which as about a SINGLE MONTH of June several days of record snowfall/ice totals.

Old Rocks link:

"....However, increased snowfall in late April and especially mid-June has increased the surface mass balance (SMB), which does not include glacier outflow, to above average (Figure 4)...."

Post one article headline: COLDER Greenland GAINS Ice In June – Media Silent

The article only covered the month of JUNE........., talks about mass gain, while you simpletons using a different data base talk about melting rates, a different metric..... :cuckoo:

I was using DMI/Polar Portal information.

Post one remains unchallenged.
