A new poll by CNN and ORC International finds that 27 percent of Democrats would like to see their party nominate a candidate other than Barack Obama for president in 2012.

In response to the question, "Do you think the Democratic party should renominate Barack Obama as the party's candidate for president in 2012, or do you think the Democratic party should nominate a different candidate for president in 2012?" -- 72 percent said they wanted to see Obama renominated. But 27 percent, slightly more than one in every four, said they wanted to see Democrats nominate a different candidate. One percent had no opinion.

The poll was taken August 24-25. In a survey taken in early August, 28 percent of Democrats said they wanted a different candidate. Polls taken in July and before showed Obama in a stronger position, with no more than 22 percent saying they preferred a different candidate. The current poll is based on interviews with 463 Democrats and has a margin of error of 4.5 percent.

It appears that the "chickens have come home to roost" on the Obama administration.

27% ...

That's like..the majority right?

At least conservatives think so.

Like when they get 2 democratic votes?

That's vast bi-partisan support in the House of Representatives.

I don't know how you expect to win the general election with 27% of democrats voting against Obama-or just simply not voting.-:cuckoo::cuckoo:

But go ahead and try---

We are hoping that the 21% of the Republicans supporting the front runners are the only Republicans that turn out..and that Scalia is asleep.

You must be using some of that new 'Dip Shit Math' we've seen other liberal weenies use in here.

Stats I was listening to today. During the mid-term Jimmy Carter election--there were approximately 6 to 7 congressional seats LOST--compared to over 70 seats for the Obama administration.

Now just from that fact--and knowing what happened in the Carter/Reagan race-(the humiliating pounding that Carter received)---can you possibly imagine what is going to happen to democrats in 2012--:lol:

It's going to look like Custer's last stand for democrats. This poll is just another lose brick out of the wall that is sending you liberals a HUGE message of what is coming in 2012.

Well hopefully no hostile nation takes American hostages and if that happens, the Republican candidate doesn't start making deals with the hostile nation.

Don't think that would be cool, twice.

They WON'T vote AGAINST Obama in the General Election! They're not pissed off enough to actually vote for any of the right-wing lunatics - nor are they likely not to vote. There is too much at stake.

That's what I said--THEY WON'T VOTE. Now if you believe you can win a general election with 27% of democrats sitting it out--GO FOR IT-- There are at least 27% of democrats--probably more than that that wish they hadn't of kicked Hillary Clinton to the curb--to replace her with this economic-- community organizer--MORON.

The American hostages in Iran were held until 20 minutes after Reagan was inaugurated.

That clear things up?

So Obama has a clear path to the Democratic nomination. On the other hand, there isn't a single Republican with 25% support for the Republican nomination. Basically, this means a bunch of nothing, but please keep wasting our time with useless posts.

Believe me..if Perry's running..there's going to be a huge Democratic turnout.

Yeah and there was a REASON for that. And it was the difference between a very weak President in Jimmy Carter--compared to a very strong President in Ronald Reagan--and the Mullahs of Iran feared Reagan much more than they ever did Carter.

Seems Republicans want to dump all their candidates except "Generic". Who the fuck is "generic"?

Generic--means anyone but BARACK OBAMA--:lol: I really have never known a President who could run against (no name) and still lose--

The Democratic Party avoiding having a primary when their nominee is the incumbent is a relatively recent phenomenon. Ted Kennedy challenged Carter in a 1980 primary, but Bill Clinton never had a primary contender in 1996. Sen. Richard B. Russell challenged Harry Truman in 1948. Of course, neither LBJ or JFK had the opportunity to face an incumbent primary.
