Meetings of experts of the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA), hosted by Sudan's National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) will kicked-off in Khartoum to discuss the negative role of the armed movements amid wide participation of African countries, centres, regional and international organizations.
The holding of this meeting in Khartoum is evidence that Sudan is secured by the African role with regard to the continent's issues, besides the need for coordination and exchange of intelligence among the African nations on security threats.
It goes without saying that Sudan has suffered from the destructive and subversive activities of the negative armed movements which get the support of countries hostile to Sudan.
The workshop aims at devising a roadmap to address the negative role of the armed movements and to agree on styles and mechanism of work among CISSA members on this issue.
It is not strange for Sudan to adapt the formation of the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA) to develop the ways of intelligence cooperation among the African nations in order to provide the African Union Peace and Security Council with the required information to prepare for the future development and to find out the settlements for the conflicts which represent a real threat to the African states' unity and stability.
We welcome the holding of CISSA workshop in Khartoum and the accompanying activities.
We seize this opportunity to hail the African leaders and their appreciated efforts through IGAD and partners who contributed in achieving the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
We bless all the current endeavours of the AUHIP to resolve the outstanding issues between Sudan and South Sudan besides the conflicts in the country in order to complete the peace process in the country.
It is unfortunate that the armed movements are growing tremendously in the African continent at a time when the rest of the world is heading towards regional blocs and international cooperation along with establishing joint markets.
African nations are still suffering from conflicts and civil wars a matter that requires urgent actions from the leaders to stop the bloodsheds.
Once again we welcome CISSA chiefs in Khartoum and we aspire that their meetings come out with a roadmap to contain the armed conflicts and the separatistsâ movements besides positive cooperation to achieve peace and safeguard the stability of the continent.
