Health Care Reform

We've received several questions specifically about the "up to age 26 coverage" for your children. Based on current legislation, TRICARE is not affected by the health care reform provision to cover dependent children in health plans up to age 26. By law, TRICARE covers eligible dependent children up to the age of 21, or up to age 23 if enrolled full time at an accredited institution of higher education and reliant on the sponsor for more than 50 percent of their financial support. Coverage ends on the child's 23rd birthday or at the end of that school year, whichever comes first.

So the government mandates that private insurance companies must cover these ‘children’ but will not through TriCare government insurance?

no matter, they don't need any insurance til they get sick.. while lying on the guerny the federally mandated insurance nazi at the local hospital will assign the insurance company on call that coverage is now needed.:lol:

SS survivor benefits for children end at age 18 or 19 if they are attending school.
Seems like it used to be 21 until Reagan? changed it.

The govt is paying for the Military insurance and can cut off the "child's" coverage at any age they want. If the child want to continue it they can enlist.
