Cities are run by city councils that are generally bi-partisan. Second, republicans run for mayor. They don't win because what they propose would make things worse.Democratic mayors allowed violence in their cities due to a false narrative of oppression (Defund the Police) and to give the illusion that crime was going up due to President Trump.
