Chauvin’s lawyer seeks new trial, hearing to impeach verdict

No matter how many trial this fool has, the film will be evidence used against him. The fact hegot a trial after being caught on tape committing a crimes shows that he was provided with every fairness.

You and your feral homies can round up a bunch of pregnant women and hold pistol whipping contests every weekend there in 'Floyd Square', practice some of that 'African American culture' stuff you're so proud of.
Fuck you. Floyd never held a gun to a pregnant woman and he wasn't holding one on a pregnant woman what the motherfucker killed him.

So you and your feral homies can go put on a blue uniform and commit 19 -20 violations for police misconduct, which did happen because Chauvin did them.

OMG--what a stupid article. Hint: When idiots try to argue that Floyd was some angel and that the right wing is just picking on him---holding a gun to woman's head as he robbed her, is not somehow nullified if she were or weren't pregnant. Claiming that there is no evidence that she was pregnant---does not make Floyd a wittle picked on angel. Floyd was a violent criminal and druggy-------and yet you and BLM makes him your guys heros. What a bunch of idiots with no moral compass or clue.

he put his knee on the back/neck of a very large, very violent, very out of control criminal. Doing so didn't kill the criminal....

Guy didn't look that out of control to me. Especially during those nine minutes he was handcuffed and pinned to the ground.

Is reading a challenge for you or something? It didn't say marches or protests in Minnesota. It said Marches and protests for the police brutality in Minnesota.

The sentence read,

#7 Did you, or someone close to you, participate in any of the demonstrations or marches against police brutality that took place in Minneapolis after George Floyd’s death?”

They asked about demonstration in Minneapolis, not in Washington.

#12 “Other than what you have already described above, have you, or anyone close to you, participated in protests about police use of force or police brutality?”

Again- this was a celebration of Dr. King, not a protest against police brutality.

Mitchell was also very upfront that he had a favorable opinion of BLM when asked.
Really.....he didn't look out of control? Then why were they forced to lay him on the ground when he refused to get into the police car?

The funny thing is the commies want to make a law in his name. I'm sure later on in commie towns, you will see streets named George Floyd Blvd, or the George Floyd high school.

It really tells you which side of the law the Democrats are on given they pay homage to criminals.

here's the problem. You put parenthesis that weren't in the sentence.

The actual sentence read.

“Did you, or someone close to you, participate in any of the demonstrations or marches against police brutality that took place in Minneapolis after George Floyd’s death?”

Now, let's simplify that sentence by removing the dependent clauses.

“Did you participate in any of the demonstrations that took place in Minneapolis after George Floyd’s death?”

Clearly, the sentence was about demonstrations in Minneapolis, not any demonstration anywhere.

No, what you did was change the wording around to support your claim. I know you're a Democrat and don't believe in this, but words mean things. I put the REAL words in parenthesis to point out what the question asked. Again, there is no reason they would want to know which rally, protest or riot you attended, they wanted to know if you already took a stance on the matter.

Why? Frankly, until a juror comes out and says, "I thought he was innocent, but I was afraid Maxine would pop in my window and hurt me", there's really no reason to declare a mistrial.

Every juror who has come forward up to this point has said, "Yup, we thought he was guilty."

But if you want that standard, all you have to do is get a juror in ANY trial to express second thoughts, and then give everyone a new trial. I don't think you want that kind of chaos, really.

They weren't afraid of that old bag, they were afraid of her stirring up the other savages to seek physical revenge.

The problem is, everyone had an opinion on this case going in, so you get what you get. If he had an opinion going in, which he was pretty straightfoward about, then it was up to the defense to change his mind.

Which is hard to do if you have videotape of him doing exactly what he is accused of doing.

Again, you are ignorant of our justice system. In this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty--not the other way around. So it's not up to the defense to change the minds of jurors who already have their minds made up. It's up to our justice system to find jurors who are open minded with no dead set opinion before going into the case.

You seen an officer kill a suspect. I seen an officer do the same thing I seen dozens of police officers do in the past, and a suspect who had an enlarged heart, clogged arteries, high blood pressure, three times the lethal dose of fentanyl in his system mixed with meth, die while the officer was keeping him restrained.

The question asked if they participated in demonstrations in Minneaopolis. He didn't.

The question never asked that.

So what you are saying is that all the racists were too scared to show up for jury duty?

Here's the reality.

Chauvin did exactly what he was accused of.
It was caught on tape.
It took less than 11 hours for a jury to reach a decision. It wasn't even close.
Correct, it wasn't close because their minds were already made up before the trial even started. That's why it needs to be moved to a location where jurors don't feel threatened.

The name George Floyd scares you? We can give him a new trial every week but every juror will watch a 9 minute video of a man being murdered. Give it up already annd stop making an ass of yourself. Commies? LOL!

Yes, that's what the question asked. It didn't say did you participate in the events IN Minneapolis. It asked did you participate in events of police brutality THAT TOOK PLACE in Minneapolis. Learn English for crying out loud.

The name doesn't scare me. Just pointing out how once again, Democrats are the disciples of Satan. In any controversial matter, the left always sides with evil over good.

Which means when the first 2 families moved in the white families started moving out, why are you still there if things are so bad. With that being said in Atlanta there are plenty of all black neighborhoods that are thriving are not crime filled, are not drug filled, etc. All comes to down to economics.

It all comes down to percentages. After a community turns over 40% black, violent crime increases, property values decrease, stores close, the streets get filthy.

And so it begins, and we all knew it would. Since the judge didn't have the spine to declare a mistrial, the challenges now begin.

Lawyer for Derek Chauvin Files Motion to Impeach Verdict: “Proceedings Deprived Client of Fair Trial”

The lawyer for convicted former Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin filed a motion to retry the case Tuesday claiming the court deprived his client of a fair trial as prescribed by the US Constitution.

Last month, a jury found Chauvin guilty on three charges, including second and third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter, following the death of George Floyd last summer.

On Tuesday, Chauvin’s defense attorney Eric Nelson filed a motion claiming there was significant “prosecutorial and jury misconduct,” in addition to “errors of law at trial; and a verdict that is contrary to law.”

Here are a list of ways the court “deprived the Defendant of a fair trial,” according to Nelson, as reported by KARE11.com:

Denial of a change of venue
Publicity surrounding the case
Failure to sequester the jury
Prosecutorial misconduct by allegedly disparaging the defense and failing to adequately prepare witnesses
The court’s failure to order testimony from Morries Hall, who was with George Floyd on the day of his death
Jury instructions that “failed to accurately reflect the law” on the murder charges
Allowing the state to “present cumulative evidence” on use of force
The court allowed the state to “lead witnesses on direct examination”
The court failed to order a record of “numerous sidebars that occurred during the trial”
Nelson says, “The cumulative effect of the multiple errors in these proceedings deprived Mr. Chauvin of a fair trial, in violation of his constitutional rights.”

Nelson’s motion also reportedly asked the court to “impeach” the verdict citing “jury misconduct,” after reports surfaced Tuesday that juror Brandon Mitchell had attended at least one BLM rally while wearing a shirt that read “Get your knee off our necks” prior to serving on the jury.

Mitchell’s attendance at the “Commitment March: Get Your Knee Off Our Necks” rally in August 2020 would be a basis to argue that the jury was not impartial, and a judge could declare a mistrial based on answers he gives during a Schwartz hearing.

Look on the bright side. The hoodrats of Minneapolis get a few more "shopping days" before the first summer holiday.

Comment:
The Left is afraid Chauvin’s trial might be overturned, so the DOJ just brought “Civil Rights” charges against him.
Hey gotta remember it's BLM.... Burn, Loot and Murder they get a pass. you know because of their "Fiery But Peaceful Protests! Brandon Mitchell lied so what, right? Nothing to see here right! Atty Gen.Ellison? kamala is waiting in the wings to bail him out if and when he is arrested!

Then why do you guys make up a story about her being pregnant unless you are trying to create fake outrage? Oh, the outrage was that he pointed it at the baby bump she didn't have... that's the fake outrage you are trying to create.

Here's the thing. I don't judge anyone by the worst thing they ever did. None of us would pass that test. yes, Geo. Floyd made some mistakes. He was also a father, a brother, he had people who cared about him, and he was trying to get his life together.

Yes, that's what the question asked. It didn't say did you participate in the events IN Minneapolis. It asked did you participate in events of police brutality THAT TOOK PLACE in Minneapolis. Learn English for crying out loud.

Again, let's look at the whole sentence... YOu left a part out.

#7 Did you, or someone close to you, participate in any of the demonstrations or marches against police brutality that took place in Minneapolis after George Floyd’s death?”

The question is, what is "that took place in Minneapolis after George Floyds death" modifies. It modifies demonstrations and marches, not Police Brutality. Because that would mean that there was police brutality AFTER Geo's Floyd's death they were protesting, not that they were protesting police brutality against Floyd.

Learn English, for crying out loud.

So he didn't take part in a demonstration in MN.
The one he did take part in took place in DC and was a commemoration of Dr. King's Speech.

You are either so partisan or just plain dumb. The sentence said police brutality that took place in Minneapolis, not protests or riots that took place in Minneapolis. It's simple English that even a foreigner could understand.

So why would they ask such a question, to see what their activity was in the city of Minneapolis? What would that have to do with being a juror? That would be stupid. They asked the question to see if the individual had a predetermined bias against the officer by their participation in anti-Chauvin protests and riots. Because if they were so inclined to participate in them, there is nothing in the world that would convince them Chauvin was not guilty.

He was also a father, a brother, he had people who cared about him, and he was trying to get his life together.
And he did a good job too. Toxicology reported he had three times the lethal dose of Fentanyl, mixed with meth, and trying to pass off another phony $20.00 bill for a pack of cigarettes.

If that isn't trying to get your life together, I don't know what is.

The bottom line here is this, Floyd was not holding a gun to anyones head when he got killed by Chauvin. Had he been doing that and Chauvin killed him, Chauvin would be a free man today and the proper disdain would have been directed to floyd. The courts determined there was no evidence nutjob amd when you talk about no moral compass you racist white bitch, look no further than your post and who your ass still wants to be president. By all accounts Floyd had changed his life for the good, so you don't get to make him what you imagine him to be just because one of yiour white racists buddies got filmed murdering him and will be spending the rest of his days tossing salad.

No the toxicology reports say nothing of the sort. Just face it racist, that white scrub Chauvin committed murder and now he will face some of the people he helped incarcerate. Sounds like he's going to have lots and lots of fun.

As a chronic liar, the bottom line is Chauvin didn't kill anybody, and we all know it, including you, and all you want is to scam a lot of money to line your pockets with.
