"Twenty-five of the best-paid chief executive officers in the U.S. earned more in salary and other compensation in 2010 than their companies’ federal income tax expenses"

"Twenty of the 25 companies on the institute’s list reported spending more on lobbying Congress than they did on federal taxes"

CEOs Earned More Than Companies Tax Bill

If this doesn't indicate we need to change the tax code, I don't know what does.

They should make more than they pay taxes idiot. That is what is wrong with you socialists, you hate capitalism so much you want "the rich to pay more than their fair share." Idiots!

We all know you worship big business and will just bend over and take whatever they want to do to you. Just make sure you write in "DOW CHEMICAL" during the next election to ensure you complete the sucking up process.

Read the article please. We're talking about the CEO alone, not the entire company.

Cry me a river.

It's quite telling that you'd be all butthurt that any business would end up keeping more for itself than forking over to Big Daddy Big Gubmint.

BTW, will I be able to get my Mao jacket in dark purple?

Look at that another person who can't read.

We're not talking about the business earning more than it paid in taxes. We're talking about the CEO (a single person) earning more by himself than the entire company paid in taxes. Get it?

I know you'll still defend that because that's what a good stooge does. Defend blindly to the bitter end. Who would you want to see as Vice President of the country? Exxon or Verizon?

:lmao:

Just to be clear, I'm laughing at you. Clearly you missed or don't understand the actual comparison being made here. It's actually pretty interesting, although I'm not as convinced as the OP that it's the tax imbalance smoking gun he thinks he's unearthed.

I thought the tax crowd would actually like this, because if the compensation is in the form of salary, the feds get a 30%+ cut of it as well as the corporate taxes paid. If the company were to put it into savings or R&D the feds wouldn't get another grab at it.

What's the percentage of the CEO's income to the profits of the company before the shareholders are paid?

Boo-fucking-hoo.

That one person in any business earned more for himself than his company paid in taxes is how you stay in business.

BTW, you do realize that any business owner, no matter the size of the company, can declare himself the CEO, don't you?

LOL. Predictably when shown that your understanding of the article was wrong, you don't retract your statement, instead you continue to defend. Exactly as I said you would.

Then you make an irrelevant point, well done. :clap2:

Here I can do that too.

Did you know that CEO actually stands for Chief Executive Officer? So there!

Guess what?...I couldn't care less.

Unlike you, I'm not a covetous little wretch....To go with being an ignoramus, who appears unaware that any business owner can declare himself the Chief Executive Officer.

Still not getting what justifies the sort of compensation executives have been recieving in the last couple of decades. The top earners have seen their salaries go up something like 300% while everyone else is flat or going down.

Why is this?
