"In what the Wall Street Journal is calling "one of the biggest upsets in U.S. political history," Donald Trump won the presidential election with 290 electoral college votes to Hillary Clinton's 232. Not only did he win the electoral votes by a wide margin, he secured the Catholic vote by margins larger than those enjoyed by any Republican candidate in the last five elections."

This is good news.....most incoming Mexicans, etc., are Catholic....

trump said a catholic thing-----he said "abortions are no good"---------he will not be able to lay a finger on Roe v. Wade---but he can play around with federal funding

It had nothing to do with immigration or Mexicans for that matter, and everything to do with gay marriage; which the Pope denounced last year when he visited the US Congress & various other places. At the conference on marriage the Pope went into detail denouncing gay marriage, but the media, even Fox News, blacked it out. Still though, it made its way down through the bishops and into the pulpits of every catholic church. And since they're required or strongly urged to regularly attend, the message and word of mouth spread among those faithful.

Nothing to do with Mexicans at all or immigration. They hated Trump for that. But the impression was that Trump was going to rebel against gay marriage. Most of his voters didn't know that he actually is for gay marriage and men in women's bathrooms. To which I say: research your candidate better people.

that is probably true.....but i was not crediting incoming Mexicans with this year's Catholic vote, just glad that most of the incoming immigrants are Catholic which is a good thing if they support the conservative cause......many of them don't of course....

in regards to Trump's positions......as of 2011 Trump was pro-life - which is the key basic issue ...."In 2011, Trump came out as pro-life. In 2015, he said he was pro-life, with certain exceptions — in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother was at risk. In July of that year, he said he supported a 20-week ban. In March 2016, he told MSNBC's Chris Matthews that women who have abortions should face some sort of legal punishment, but quickly walked that claim back after facing backlash."
Here's where Trump stands on abortion and other women's health issues

and regarding gay marriage......."During an interview with Bill O’Reilly in 2011, he said: “I just don’t feel good about it.” Trump added, “I don’t feel right about it. I’m against it, and I take a lot of heat because I come from New York. You know, for New York it’s like, how can you be against gay marriage? But I’m opposed to gay marriage.”"
What Will Happen To LGBT Rights With Donald Trump As President?

Not surprising after the DNC's leaked e-mails showed them attacking the Catholic faith...

Not even needed. Gay marriage forced on the 50 states and deranged boys in girls' locker rooms at school forced on the 50 states made the dems declaration against catholicism in general an unnecessary reiteration.

Catholics now like assaulting women, calling women pigs and casino's1!!!!!!

Weird.

So he should never call ONE woman a pig simply because she's a woman......sort of speak? And should Catholics just assume claims are just as good as actions when there is no evidence or convictions?

Dumb Hillary was so focused on pleasing her base than she was thinking about the big picture. When she said she stood by aborting babies right up to birth, that's what really turned off the Catholics. I should know. I went to my mothers birthday a few weeks before the election. She doesn't follow politics, so she was confused on who to vote for. After my sister and I informed her of Hillary's stance on issues like abortion, it was a no brainer who my mother voted for. My mother is very religious.
