In the recesses of your mind
If you were diagnosed with cancer (hypothetically), what course of medical action would you take for your cancer maintenance?

Would you go with the current standards of pills, infusions, and chemo?

Or would you go Holistic? With a more all natural related idealology of medicines?

Which one would you choose, and why?

Depending on the time table presented with... I'd like to go holistic. But if immediate drastic action has to happen, or I'll die in 2 weeks... Ill bring my own scalpel.

Hmmm........... good point.

I would suggest each person use their own judgement on the type cancer they assume would be the worst for them..........and lets say a year as a time table.

There are many different forms of cancer. Depending on how aggressive it is, I would probably opt for alternative treatments. I have a long standing distrust of doctors.

I hear you on that!

It took me YEARS to find a good, honest dr that I liked a lot!!! Unfortunately, the hospital group he worked for had a corrupt billing department, and they tried getting me to pay for hundreds of dollars of stuff that my insurance company AND the dr said were free. So I told him I had to stop seeing him and get another dr.

A few years later, I found another awesome dr, through a friend. I had him for around 10 years before he moved on to another practice.

The current dr I have now is a super nice guy and will do anything ethical for you, but he's not very thourough on visits. Other than that.........I haven't had too many quack dr.s over the years.

I would listen to my primary care doctor and nurse practitioner. They send me to whatever specialists (the ones they trust and so far the ones they trust have been world-class) they think I need and all results of tests, imaging, treatments, everything goes back to them, just like in the past. They are the people that know me, personally and professionally for years. The cancer doctor (whatever type) would have his recommendation, naturally, but I would discuss with my MD and NP. Of course, I would study like hell too, so I could discuss intelligently. I probably would not be inquiring on the USMB.

Well hopefully not.

I was watching short vids on YT today and one lady asked this question. I thought it might be good for a discussion topic, thats all.
But yeah, I'd prolly do the same.

Glad to hear you are not reading a diagnosis, dude. 👍

I'd go the holistic route.

I highly recommend watching this interview. This guy has an amazing story, and this video is definitely worth watching.

At this point, I would go holistic.

Previous to the vaccines, I would have gone traditional. You might say my eyes are opened.

99.9% of people that die of cancer did so under the supervision and treatment of a doctor,,
and nurses, and emt's....

it's a nasty disease , with scary stats, and it's absolutely heart wrenching to watch folks wither away

that some have to battle their insurance companies on their way out is plain 'kicking a man down'

lotta them won't $$$ for holistic anything, nor does our empirical medical system recommend it

3/4s of my grandparents died of cancer.

I've lost 2 brothers in laws in the last 12 months to cancer.

seeing the pain they went thru, I'd likely take a lead aspirin.

its not hypothetical for me..i found out in dec of 2014 that i suffered from bladder cancer. i opted for chemo..which i call chemo light...they put chemicals in your bladder...no radiation or hair loss or vomiting that hard chemo have...i opted for a younger specialist...it was all weird...i was on the standard chemo drug and suddenly there was a shortage...so i was switched to the drugchexk up used overseas....under the first chemo drug i had repeated tumors...they call it resection ..each time they had to remove the tumors...two hospital visits and one in office removal...2nd chemo drug worked...like a champ..tumors stopped...it has been nearly 5 years of no tumors...i believe in science I did not look into the natural treatments i went with what my doctor told me to do. i still have yearly check ups.

I think my choice would depend on the kind of cancer, it’s stage and prognosis. I would do my research, look for an oncologist familiar with that cancer, listen to recommendations and make my decision based on that. Holistic can be an adjunct but would not be my alternative unless I was looking at palliative care.
