Canada to Reduce Penalties for Serious Gun Crimes

A big chunk of American prison population is in prison because they were felons caught with guns.

And 68% of crimes in America are committed by people who’ve been released from prison.

This is the secret sauce in enacting the "3 Strikes Laws" that libs hate.

A relatively small number of criminals commit a disproportionate number of crimes. If someone is pinched for Child Molestation- example given- it probably isn't his first offense. He likely committed the crime many times before and just was never caught. And when he gets out, he is likely to commit atrocities again.

The very idea that having been convicted of a felony should negate one's right to keep and bear arms, once one has “paid his debt to society” is an artifact of a defect that has been introduced into our entire concept of justice.

It used to be that any criminal who had established himself, either by one sufficiently big crime, or by a sufficient pattern of serious criminal behavior; as one who cannot be trusted to exist in free society with all of his Constitutional rights intact, would serve his sentence at the end of a rope. This obviated any need to worry about whether he should be allowed, after that point, to keep and bear arms. If he really wanted to keep his guns after that point, they could be buried in his grave with him.
