I'm telling you all, Canada is getting crushed. All of the lost jobs were in the private sector, magically, as usual, the public sector remained the same. I'm surprised it didn't grow!

Want to talk about a recipe for disaster...

Canada loses 71,200 jobs in biggest employment drop in decade

Canada’s job market unexpectedly weakened for a second-straight month, registering the biggest drop in employment since 2009 and casting doubt on the resiliency of the domestic outlook.

The economy lost 71,200 jobs in November, Statistics Canada said Friday in Ottawa, following a decline of 1,800 in the prior month. That pares the total number of jobs added this year to around 285,100.

The report missed the median economist forecast for a gain of 10,000 jobs. The unemployment rate increased to 5.9 per cent in the month, from 5.5 per cent in October, the biggest one-month jump since 2009. The decrease in employment was broad-based among both the goods-producing and service-producing sectors.

What was the cause of such a big drop?

Probably the federal government pushing hiring a month before the election, maybe even on a temporary basis to improve last months numbers.

More honestly, this is structural. We fail to innovate. Literally, our best, brightest and most talented leave for America. Literally.

Foreign money has left, won't be coming back. Our economy is inefficient, top heavy and has a covert control over it, which rewards the same, lazy government family members to keep an "eye on things"

Just as a personal example. I've been doing some serious online courses on Neural Networks, advanced algebra, vector calculus etc, some of these courses allow you to see the total number of all citizens and from where they resided when they took the course. It was astounding how many more are from the U.S, Europe and Japan compared to Canada.

One course, there were 17 people from Canada who had taken an advanced computer course, and something like 4000 from America had. Even a couple hundred from small European nations. In short, we discourage capitalism and innovation, there is no motivation for intellects and talented to stick around, they have to leave to be useful.

This is dangerous for our economy and national security.

I noticed the article did not go into what industries jobs were lost in.

Why can't you all just plant trees and color your faces black and be happy with Trudeau?

It's all Trump's fault anyway.

If I could apply and become a U.S citizen from Canada, I would. As it were, I wouldn't trust my country to head to USA without being a U.S citizen.

I'd love to tell my entire story some day. Rest assured, I've been screwed over in a manner that decimates Canadas reputation.

As the left wing/socialists/democrats tell us when we try to explain to them that raising taxes on business will many of them to close down.....they tell us then they should be closed down.....so, if Canada loses jobs...those jobs were worthless jobs if they can't exist in a socialist paradise....

The liberal/socialist/environmentalist blackface party is to blame, with more jobs to be lost. Alberta is really taking a chit kicking thanks to the french from Quebec who runs Canada and Ottawa. Canada is phu-ked because it does not have a Trump as it's leader. Canada has an idiot running Canada. Another four more years of this bumbling idiot prime mistake of Canada, and Canada will surely become just another 3rd world hell hole. Mass 3rd world immigration, and legal and illegal so called refugees is killing Canada. We are always being told that immigration will be good for Canada. So why was there 71,200 jobs lost in November? And this fool wants to raise the immigration levels. The lunatics have taken over the loony house. Sad but true. :banghead:
