Yep...the extreme gun control laws of California do not reduce mass public shootings.....

California’s 39.2 million residents comprise 11.8% of the U.S. population. Yet, according to data from the Mother Jones Mass Shooting Database, the state accounts for 20% (17 of 85) of the nation’s mass shootings since 2012, and 16.1% of its mass shooting fatalities.

No other state comes close to bearing as much responsibility for mass shootings as California. In fact, the nation’s second most populous state—Texas—accounts for only 8.2% (7 of 85) mass shootings since 2012, and 14.3% of mass shooting fatalities, despite having a polar opposite approach to gun policy.

>>> Five Years After Parkland, Florida’s Measured Response Is an Outlier

While California’s government has spent the last 12 years imposing increasingly more restrictive gun-control measures on its residents, its mass shooting problem isn’t getting better. If anything, it’s getting slightly worse.

Between 2012 and 2017, 20% (8 of 40) of all mass public shooting incidents and 13.4% (48 of 358) of all mass public shooting fatalities occurred in California. From 2018 through mid-February 2023, the state was still responsible for 20% of all mass public shooting incidents, but its share of mass public shooting fatalities soared to a whopping 20.8% (58 of 279).

The Mother Jones database uses the more traditional definition of mass shooting, in which three or more people other than the shooter are killed in a public setting during an act of indiscriminate violence. There are, of course, other ways of defining a “mass shooting.” In recent years, the definition provided by the Gun Violence Archive—which lumps together any and all shootings in which at least four people are shot, regardless of the location or context—has been become the darling of gun-control advocates, who love to invoke its higher numbers as a scare tactic.

The Texas Tribune:

Texas has had eight mass shootings in the past 13 years, while lawmakers have steadily loosened restrictions on carrying firearms

I already posted mass shooting stats in another thread. Guess it's time for the Democrats to move to another thread and lie about them. The last commie claimed Texas and Florida were the leaders, when in fact it's California and Illinois, both Gangbanger Heaven, being run by Democratic Party machines. The game is to count only killings by the handful of whites and ignore their gangster hood rats and leave them out of the stats. 50 guesses on why.

What's the old tactic, "Repeat a lie often enough it will become true"?

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

It works for commies and deviants as well.

Texas has 10 million fewer residents.

So, California has 8 and Texas has 13, but Texas has 10 million fewer residents.

Texas Man Kills Family of Five In Texas, Including An 8-Year Old Boy.

CLEVELAND, Texas (AP) — A Texas man went next door with a rifle and fatally shot five of his neighbors, including an 8-year-old boy and a teenage girl, after the family asked him to stop firing rounds in his yard because they were trying to sleep, authorities said Saturday.

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Francisco Oropeza, remained at large more than 12 hours after the shooting that began just before midnight Friday near the town of Cleveland, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) north of Houston. Some residents who live on the street said it was not uncommon to hear neighbors unwind at the end of the work week by firing off guns.

San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers said Oropeza used an AR-style rifle and that all the victims were believed to be from Honduras.

And......California has more mass public shootings.......

He apparently wasn't a "Texas," man, but a Mexican national.....so this story won't be around long.......the democrat party border policy can't be seen in a bad light....

The Austin shooter was a Mexican alien probably illegal. Police were probably ordered to avoid arresting him to stay away from democrat federal entanglements so they let the drunk shoot his rifle in his yard. How did he get the gun? Maybe from the thousands of weapons Obama shipped to Mexico. Leftie's solution? Take guns away from law abiding citizens.
