CA has a real liberal in office

Wow... a Democrat who made a common sense decision on a law... California truly is the home of oddities.

:woohoo:

That's my favorite lefty right there. He's a political hero of mine forever..

It's really not about his decisions.. It's about his leadership. Seems like he could actually herd cats somedays..

So O.K. he's got his one right decision of the year out of the way, the pressure's off, full steam ahead to the socialist paradise. One more month and I'm out of this state for good.Good Riddance.

Be sure to stock up on sprouts, crystals and New Age stuff. It's mighty hard to find that stuff in flyover country..

Me -- I smuggle loads of Dim Sum out. And a pile of cash from my old palatial Cali mansion on the San Andreas faultline.

I said a common sense decision. And so far 1 is all I've seen.

Moonbeam is stuck in the 60s, and I love it.

Remember when Democrats actually stood for something that wasn't a handout or favor to someone else?

They still do. You guys just refuse to acknowledge it.

They used to stand for individual freedom and small government, now they stand for big government and corporate power.

Ha! Spoken like someone who refuses to listen to the other side.

You're right.
They stand for corporate power, ala GE, they stand for sops to Black Power, they stand for union power, and most of all they stand for power to the Democratic Party. Power to the (Democratic) People!

What other side?

Do you want to try to convince me that I am wrong, give it a shot. Just be prepared to have me defend my position in return. My bet is that, if we have an honest discussion about it, you will find out I am right.

Do I want to convince you you're wrong? What? No. You have an opinion and you are free to have it. You can base that opinion off facts and reality, or not. It's completely up to you. I'm not here to try and change your opinion. I'm hear to correct people's facts and let them make up their own minds.

Unfortunately, Moonbeam proved what a moron he truly is by signing the State Dream Act.

I'm not truly fond of rewarding the unrecognized, undocumented with more state incentives. Afterall -- if you're criminalize biz for hiring them -- the state shouldn't be sponsoring an all inclusive benefit plan. That would be hypocrisy by any definition..

BUT

Here's the dirty little secret that no one wants to recognize. That illegal "family" whose dad is mowing your yard and whose mom is working at Carl's Jr -- are gonna have a 2nd generation of offspring who aren't gonna be doing those jobs. The kids are gonna assimilate like the parents couldn't or wouldn't and some of those kids are gonna be doctors, lawyers, politicians, chemical engineers and CEOs. Can't keep 'em down on plantation once they've tasted American dreams. So I can't see punitive reasons for separating them out and denying them tuition breaks. Most of THEM are lawful documented Americans after all. Like it or not. And maybe it's veiled racism to see that immigration population as only a source of menial labor.

I think Jerry sees it that way too. We've screwed up badly by picturing them as a perpetual underclass. (or by allowing them in depending on your view) And anyone living in California with 3rd/4th gen LEGAL Mexican friends know that's not gonna happen. Those "new mexican kids" are gonna be competing in the TOTAL job market.
