Oregon militants acquitted of conspiracy in wildlife refuge seizure

A federal court jury delivered a surprise verdict on Thursday acquitting anti-government militant leader Ammon Bundy and six followers of conspiracy charges stemming from their role in the armed takeover of a wildlife center in Oregon earlier this year.

The outcome marked a stinging defeat for federal prosecutors and law enforcement in a trial the defendants sought to turn into a pulpit for airing their opposition to U.S. government control over millions of acres of public lands in the West.

Bundy and others, including his brother and co-defendant Ryan Bundy, cast the 41-day occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge as a patriotic act of civil disobedience. Prosecutors called it a lawless scheme to seize federal property by force.

Jubilant supporters of the Bundys thronged the courthouse after the verdict, hailing the trial's outcome as vindication of a political ideology that is profoundly distrustful of federal authority and challenges its legitimacy.

"We're so grateful to the jurors who weren't swayed by the nonsense that was going on," defendant Shawna Cox told reporters. "God said we weren't guilty. We weren't guilty of anything."...

The Bundy Clan Is Now Calling for Revolution


Now the whackos want a revolution.

And what is the reason to start a revolution in a democracy? When enough people don't vote for what you want, and you don't get what you want, it's time to start killing people.

Let us see into the future. Suppose the whacks got a revolution and overthrew the current government. What government would they put in it's place? One that forces people to live like they do of course, likely by decree rather than a vote. Or, if there was voting, what would keep the whacks from losing elections again?

This is the problem with these derps who aren't happy about losing elections. On Earth democracy is the best form of government that humans have come up with so far. Everything else is worse. So if you were to replace this one with another one, there would not be any guarantee of your worldview winning in that one either, unless you set in law a suppression of all those viewpoints that oppose yours. But if you do that, you no longer have a democracy you have a monarchy, or dictatorship, or commintern.

This is what these people want, they want to codify in law their worldview so it cannot be challenged at the ballot box. Kim Jong Un has already mastered this form of government, go study him if you want to see the future you'd like to create.
