Actually, no. As someone already mentioned, Christian tradition of ashes comes from its roots in Judaism, and is a symbol of repentance and penitence.

I really think you should talk to people about your own faith and what it teaches, and let people who actually practice and teach Christianity provide the instruction for our faith.
