What, then, is the basis of all this? What has the United States actually been doing in the Middle East in the recent past?

• the shooting down of two Libyan planes in 1981

• the bombing of Lebanon in 1983 and 1984

• the bombing of Libya in 1986

• the bombing and sinking of an Iranian ship in 1987

• the shooting down of an Iranian passenger plane in 1988

• the shooting down of two more Libyan planes in 1989

• the massive bombing of the Iraqi people in 1991

• the continuing bombings and draconian sanctions against Iraq for the next 12 years

• the bombing of Afghanistan and Sudan in 1998

• the habitual support of Israel despite the routine devastation and torture it inflicts upon the Palestinian people

• the habitual condemnation of Palestinian resistance to this

• the abduction of “suspected terrorists” from Muslim countries, such as Malaysia, Pakistan, Lebanon and Albania, who were then taken to places like Egypt and Saudi Arabia, where they were tortured

• the large military and hi-tech presence in Islam’s holiest land, Saudi Arabia, and elsewhere in the Persian Gulf region

• the support of numerous undemocratic, authoritarian Middle East governments from the Shah of Iran to Mubarak of Egypt to the Saudi royal family

• the invasion, bombing and occupation of Afghanistan, 2001 to the present, and Iraq, 2003 to the present

• the bombings and continuous firing of missiles to assassinate individuals in Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, and Libya during the period of 2006-2011

It can’t be repeated or emphasized enough. The biggest lie of the “war on terrorism”, although weakening, is that the targets of America’s attacks have an irrational hatred of the United States and its way of life, based on religious and cultural misunderstandings and envy....

The crime of making Americans aware of their own history | Foreign Policy Journal

Time to air the dirty laundry.

Blind Faith? History has demonstrated the US Republic as one of the most successful governments concieved by man (And in my humble opinion inspired of God). The principles our Founders espoused were rooted in a history of failures in government. They studied these governments. They found out what worked, why it worked, and what didn't work and failed miserably. They adopted these principles into a Constitution. Which is why our nation is currently the oldest standing Republic.

If we are going to fix the problems of our nation, we need to restore the Republic. We need to restore the Senate to the States. We need to end the corruption of big government and convince the people to step up and take care of themselves. We have to start living up to our personal responsibilities and cease to be covetous.

If we do that, we will see greatness again.

I find it very sad that I can place a well thought out artical that is nothing but honest and worth talking about and the only response I get is from one guy who doesnt even address the artical, instead makes a quick smart ass comment about the title.

Or I can start a thread with little to no thought behind it but make it left leaning at all and bam! 7 pages of insults and flat out stupid responses.

I think it shows the average IQ's of most of the 'regular posters' here.

And for the record, 200 years is nothing. China culture is over 5,000 years old. To suggest that we are the most successfull country in the world is a bit of an overstatement. Just because we hit a couple of technology leaps doesnt guarentee our position in the future.

One of those technological leaps was the invention of SPELL CHECK. You should consider it when you write these condescending posts of yours. You might seem less pretentious.

Conservative with regards to your signature and reapealing of obamacare. What plan do you support to replace obamacare with, or do you just want to take things back to the problems that we had before an attempt at fixing healthcare.

Most people are all hot about repealling Obamacare, but zilch so far as a reasonable alternative.

The alternative is get government out of the way and let insurance act like insurance.

Instead we mandate insurance pay for personal responsibility.

yeah the muslims are the good guys, and the U.S. is the real evil.

Go fuck yourself idiot.

Most people are "hot" about fixing healthcare because they wanted reforms to the system that would bring down costs. Instead they got Obamacare which will increase the cost of healthcare while lowering the quality of the care we receive.

I'm perfectly happy with Ryan's alternative.

Also, you REALLY do need SPELL CHECK. If you want to be taken seriously on this board, spelling the same word incorrectly, twice, in different ways, in one post is simply not going to endear you to your fellow posters.

What does get government out of the way mean?

6 words does not touch this problem.

I would rather be taken seriously by my content then by my grammer. But critisizm noted. Can we get back on topic or are we always going to avoid the debates with petty insults?

Your insurance must pay by mandate many things that should be personal responsibility.

Womens contraceptives is the first to come to mind. Government paying for viagra comes in right behind that. These are just two very simple things in something very complex.

Do you think insurance would be cheaper if you had to pay for your doctor visit? Would you now go to the doctor for every hang nail or sniffles.

Actually Obamacare will increase the costs of healthcare only for people that already had it. Sounds to me like this is the argument that 'nothing should change with healthcare because ill never see a doctor!'

Which is really saying 'I dont want to change healthcare because there isnt enough to go around and currently im recieving it'.

What a sad point of view, and we wonder why the muslims hate us.

Now im probably one of the strictest conservatives on this board, and I say we need to let health care return to the true market values by removing government tampering mechanisims and promoting hospital use of liability waivers on patients. That will lower healthcare costs rather quickly to what people can actually afford. If there is more demand then there is services then its time for investors to build more hospitals. This stuff is not rocket science, it just gets complicated when government starts throwing money at problems.

Never mind the fact that this is about Jihadist's who want to take over the world and impose their very strict misinterpreted Islamic ideology and want Sharia law all around the world.
Who will kill anyone who will not conform to their laws.
This includes Jews, Christians and Muslims who will not accept there laws.

Well thats a silly question. We already know it would be cheaper. Thats why the market has provided different services for different prices. You can go buy that cheaper insurance right now.

Womens contraceptives will continue to be paid for by the government because of population control and the sound rejection of abortion by the population. I dont see to many people running around these days promoting an increase in the population.

what the fuck do 'Muslims' have to do with the healthcare debate?

Answer... nothing. You're losing it.
