He continue to try and fight and was able to get some federal oversight of federal elections...but the dems and the terrorist brownshirts in the KKK were successful in maintaining control and taking power back bringing in the jim crow era and decades of dem control in the south

Nationwide protests have cast a spotlight on racism and inequality in the United States. Now a major bank has put a price tag on how much the economy has lost as a result of discrimination against African Americans: $16 trillion.

Since 2000, U.S. gross domestic product lost that much as a result of discriminatory practices in a range of areas, including in education and access to business loans, according to a new study by Citigroup.

Specifically, the study came up with $16 trillion in lost GDP by noting four key racial gaps between African Americans and whites:

$13 trillion lost in potential business revenue because of discriminatory lending to African American entrepreneurs, with an estimated 6.1 million jobs not generated as a result

$2.7 trillion in income lost because of disparities in wages suffered by African Americans

$218 billion lost over the past two decades because of discrimination in providing housing credit

And $90 billion to $113 billion in lifetime income lost from discrimination in accessing higher education

so you don't actually enjoy history? Hayes and the GOP continued to try and fight to protect voting rights after African-Americans, only to continue to get backlash from the Dems and their terrorist.

The Dems in Congress attempted to pass an appropriations bill in 1879 with a rider that repealed the Enforcement Acts (that were laws that gave African-American civil rights, to vote, set on juries, hold public office etc), and helped suppress the efforts of the DNC's terrorist in the KKK and Red Shirts....Hayes vetoed it. They didnt have enough votes to override the veto, so passed essentially the same law, Hayes vetoed that too. On the third attempted Congress didn't include the rider, but refused to fund the US Marshalls, who were enforcing the law, Hayes did finally sign off on that, because the rest of Govt did need funding. So the laws remained, but the funding to enforce it was slime. Which did allow the Dems and their terrorist to gain power.
