Taxing Billionaires was how Biden was going to keep his promise his $5.5 trillion bill would cost zero....if the tax is now gone so is the 'zero cost.

When you do this on a one party basis, the other side thinks you’re trying to cheat them, and you can’t make policy that way

In this case the GOP thinks the Democrats are trying to screw the Americal people...and they are right.

The giant sucking sound you are about to hear is trillions of dollars worth of wealth leaving the US, as billionaires leave the country and take their money with them.

Smart move, Democrats.

No. Actually it's pretty fucking stupid.

That's what happens when you remove the revenue portion of a bill (to protect the wealthy from a 2% tax increase)

Oh and it's no longer 3.5T.

Looks like 2T now.

If it costs zero, why does there need to be a raising of the debt ceiling?
The debt ceiling is unrelated to this bill.

Has to be raised whether or not the bill is passed

"One party" is simply refusing to take part.

That is the obstructionist Republican Party

Taxing billionaires still means it isn't free because they were going to pay for it.

But the reality of it this whole the people who will pay for this bill will be the American people. Middle America is always who pays for everything.

It is the way in which the tax was being proposed. There are other ways to tax the wealthy other than the feel-good "wealth tax"

Pssssst….. even 2 trillion isn’t and never was paid for. Grow up!

Absolutely would have been had not "conservatives" cut those revenue streams...Manchin and Sinema...
