Also starring is James Arness (gunsmoke) as his partner. Believe it or not Hollywood portrays HUAC investigators as the heroes and communists as slimy nazi types. Good entertainment even if you root for the commies.

However, Hollywood's problem soon vanished when McCarthy made a fool of himself on national television. McCarthy's image of a great communist fighter became that of a bully that that used innuendo and slander to destroy lives.
