Also, Ted Cruz is raising hell over the Bidens teams refusal to release donor information, including FOREIGN donors (is that legal?). Trump is going to be all over this come the debates, as he wants it to be "global socialist/China First, vs. "capitalism/America First". You can bet on this, consider below.

Just from an electability point of view, Klobuchar would be fine. Probably the best choice. She’s got experience, comes from the Roosevelt and Farmer/Labor tradition of the party, will bring in women who will figure she’s our next president, and she can win votes in swing states like nobody else. She’ll look tougher and smarter on trade and China than Trump/Pence. Above all she will come off as decent, hardworking, competent.

As for black voters, soon after the election cycle begins, with Obama beside him, somebody will ask Biden who he will nominate for a Supreme Court vacancy ... and he will smile at his old friend. If the Democrats are smart they will publically announce that Senator Warren will head an “economic post-Covid recovery” commission to overhaul taxation and corporate governance. If they handle themselves well and Trump is faltering, they won’t even have to debate Trump. Maybe seize on some insult. Biden is right to keep a low profile right now. Trump can still win, of course, but the Dems have a shot at it ... even with a dull and semi-senile Biden at the head of the ticket.

Taft served as president and was also on the Supreme Court. 41 supreme court justice were never judges. In fact, there have been Supreme Court justices that weren't even lawyers. There is no constitutional requirement for supreme court justices.

This has been my feeling for the past couple of months and an article came out yesterday that she is now officially being vetted. Klobuchar is a safe pick. She's from the midwest and has that folksy charm (although there have been reports from former staffers she's anything but in private). She also doesn't have the baggage of women like Stacey Abrams, Kamala Harris, or Gretchen Whitmer. Also, given Biden's age, there is a fair chance he wouldn't make it through his first term, so it's really almost like there are two Democrats running for president on that ticket this year.

Given that we have four ex-presidents who lived into their 90's, there's no reason to think Biden won't live through his first and maybe even a second term.

Jerry Ford- Lived to be 93
Jimmy Carter- Still around at 95
Ronald Reagan- Lived to be 93
George H. Bush - lived to be 94

No reason to think that given the health care available to him, Biden couldn't live into his 90's, especially since he lives a largely healthy lifestyle.

Now, for picking Amy, probably a good choice. She's likable, she shores him up in the Midwest.

At the end of the day, Vice Presidential choices are kind of meaningless. Bush-41 picked Dan Quayle, and he STILL won.

And compared to Trump, Dan Quayle actually looks smart today.

No, China is not the #1 issue.

The #1 issue is the economy, and that is in the tank.

It's in the tank in every single nation on earth. Where was it before the Wuhan Virus? You were growing at nearly 3%, Canada was growing at .8% (8 tenths of a percent) for comparison and had GDP less than it was in 2011 (thanks to our bowing to China primarily).

The #1 issue is China as everything about the economy in every nations revolves around confronting China. There is simply no avoiding this, and it's become worse each year as they have ambitions of dethroning the U.S and ultimately conquering the West.

From control of their viruses to their stealing of I.P, spying, hacking and throwing flipped agents into lakes full of crocodiles (or so I've read). China must be reigned in.

This is the battle of this generation and it will be much a tougher battle than the battle against the Communist Russians who were prevented from participating in the Western economy. All this, with a seemingly softer society needed to win the battle.

God help us.

We were promised 4,5 or even 6% by Donald Dewey. So there is that.

I thought 4-5% was an outside possibility if everything went well, though it was very aggressive. It might have been achieved if there wasn't so much interference in his first term by the opposition. Tough to make trade deals and deal with foreign government abuses when you have former governments lobbying behind your back, current government openly telling other leaders to ignore him, on top of the constant investigations and "resistance".

The securing of a new trade deal to replace NAFTA along with hitting China hard could have made it possible. Jobs was key, and he was delivering on that front. I think what Canada achieved would have been your growth if Obama had still been in office, less than 1%.

But can you imagine trudging through those arguments without the background of knowing the case law inside and out? Holy God. What a miserable experience. And would that selection be partisan much? lol

Most supreme court justices have either never serve as a judge or have very limited experience. The variety of cases are so varied, I doubt the justices are that familiar with the applicable case law. That might explain why it takes the court an average of 91 days to reach a decision after oral arguments.
