They have the most cases because they've done nothing to prevent infection. If they're getting first crack at the MCA's there is no incentive at all for them to change what they're currently doing. There are 150,000 doses per week for the whole nation. There are 175,000 new cases per day.

I honestly do not see how you can in any way justify giving MCA's to red states ahead of everyone else. States with the highest rates of infection need to deal with their low vaccine rates, and institute mask mandates, and THEN ask for MCA's. Incompetence and stupidity doesn't move you to the head of the line. That's simply throwing good money after bad, something that Republicans have been doing since the pandemic started.

In my books, the MCA's go to the people and states who have demonstrated their willingness to do everything possible to reduce the levels of disease and death, at least in equal proportions to their populations.
