And he tries to con us into believing those will save money.

Paging P T Barnum, paging P T Barnum. This way to the egress.

President Biden signed an executive order on Friday giving labor unions a massive boost by requiring union labor and work rules on all major federal construction projects.

The order will mandate that all federal construction projects over $35 million must use “project labor agreements.” The agreements are collective bargaining pacts between unions and contractors which set wages, employment conditions and dispute resolution.

Speaking at Iron Workers Local 5 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Mr. Biden said the executive order will save taxpayer money because, under the project labor agreements, or PLAs, potential conflicts will be ironed out ahead of time.

“When big construction projects are completed efficiently with the highest degree of professionalism, it’s good for the American taxpayer,” he said.

Mr. Biden’s order will apply to $262 billion of federal construction contracts and impact nearly 200,000 workers, the White House said.

Those totals will likely surge because the federal government is set to begin a massive building spree following the passage of Mr. Biden’s $1 trillion infrastructure plan.

The order went into effect immediately after it was signed at an event featuring labor leaders, Vice President Kamala Harris and Labor Secretary Marty Walsh.

Unions have long argued for PLAs, saying they can smooth out potential conflicts ahead of construction. Critics counter that they make construction more expensive.

Obama did this, then Trump un-did it.

But it goes further than that.

The David Bacon Act, a racist Depression-era law that was intended to prevent Negros from working on Federally-funded construction projects has been interpreted to require UNION WAGES on all Federal projects, regardless of whether the contractors are unionized or not.

This screws the taxpayers to the tune of 20% extra on every federal construction project.

Obama fixed it so that on large projects the tiny opening for non-union contractors was closed. It required a project labor agreement, making the union requirement formal and unbreakable.

It is unethical and barely legal for the Feds to demand Union labor but Democrats have no shame.

They are evil. Never forget it. They FUCK 90% of American workers so that they can keep the money train coming from unions. And we let them get away with it.

I'm confused, didn't conservatives support Union jobs for the Keystone pipeline?

Now they balk at support of our hard working middle class American Union folks.

Ah, I'm missing the hypocrisy.

No, phax pounded the good paying Union jobs for months after Biden killed the pipeline. Republics acted like they cared about Union jobs, but now...when rubber hits the road it's fuck them Union jobs.

Yep. Just like liberals support union jobs, but canceled the pipeline and coal mines usage. Neither part has cornered the market on hypocrisy. Two things you can count on for union projects are over budget and over time.

Coal has been killing coal for years.

So you support the Biden measure on federal construction jobs being Union.
