Biden Lies …Again – Says SCOTUS Appointments Never Happen In Election Year

Biden Lies …Again – Says SCOTUS Appointments Never Happen In Election Year

Funny thing is that republicans for the first time in 4 years, mentioned the political party of the president compared to the senate had anything to do with their decision to refuse to hold a hearing for a judicial nominee.

Other than those 29 other times it’s never happened!

Well, they shouldn't. The American people should have a say in that by voting for the next President.....oh..wait..nevermind.
Uh..let's just change it to say..if a REPUBLICAN is in office, they can nominate a judge. :)

Pretty sure they had that say when they voted for the current president. I also missed the part of the constitution that says a presidents term is 3 1/2 years and not four

See.....The thing is, the American people DID have a say. They elected Donald J Trump to be President ( Yes, he is President so get over it already) for 4 years until January 2021, not for 3 years and 8 months. Donald J Trump IS President and he should AND DID nominate a new justice. Now the Senate, which the American people ALSO had a say in electing for a term ending December 31, 2020, will do their job and advise and consent to the President's, that would be Donald J Trump because the American people had their say and elected him, Supreme Court pick and confirm his pick as the next Justice of the Supreme Court.

No. They didn't. Barack Obama was President in 2016. There was a vacant SC seat. He had the right to fill it. Period. End of story. And Mitch McConnell took that away from him.
Even though the seat was Obama's to fill, I didn't have a problem with Gorsuch. A solid judge and jurist. Kavanaugh was a scumbag. Like Clarence Thomas 30 years prior, not worthy to sit on the SC.
Barrett is an illegitimate pick. She will always have that label. Don't care one way or the other how she rules, who her children are, or whether or not she worships corn.
This will come back (and already is) to bite Republicans in the ass.

That makes no sense. You're effectively saying that the people aren't allowed to change their mind. Once they vote for Trump, they can vote the other way by a huge margin, and they still have to pay for their original sin.

Yes they did hve a say. They had a say in the 2018 mid-terms. They watched how the dems treated Kavanaugh and then
a few weeks later went to the polls and increased the GOP lead in the Senate.

Quoting Barrack Obama in his statement to Paul Ryn in January of 2009..."Elections have consequences...we won,
youlost...get over it."

In future years you are allowed to quote me..."What goes around, comes around...you democrat Motherfucker."

Obama made his nominee, why the tizzy?
As a community organizer once said, elections have consequences.

Hey, WM, saying a Dem lied is like calling water wet. Even if it WERE TRUE, just where again in the Constitution does it say this is a problem or even matters?

Wallace had some Dem on this morning on Fox and the guy waxed poetic about Barrett saying she was EMINENTLY QUALIFIED. Then went on to say how important it was she not be confirmed until AFTER the election.

WHY? Does her qualifications change after Nov. 4? I wonder, do Dems understand that NO MATTER WHAT, Trump is still POTUS until next January 21, 2021?

Oh yeah, the same guy also said that many things in the Constitution were "stupid."

Hey.....Now you're catching on. That's the way it has been since 1789. The citizens vote and LIVE with their choice for 4 YEARS. Not 3 years and 8 months. No backsies for 4 years. Deal with it.

So under your misguided ideas the American people only vote for Republicans? Have you forgotten 44’s famous saying elections have consequences? The American people voted for a Republican senate during 44 terrible reign and they voted for Trump and for a Republican senate. So since they voted for all them that must mean they get to choose.
if you had been that upset about Ginsberg‘s replacement you should have had her retire while 44 was in power and the dems had the senate. Then the election would have had other consequences.

yep .....and both sides left and right would nominate someone for the supreme court if they had control of the senate and the WH election yr or not !

You don't get to make a rule and then walk it back just because it's your guy in the White House. A SC justice is appointed for life. If you want to bark about retirement, why no such recommendations for Clarence Thomas?
Yes, elections have consequences. You ready for the ones coming up for Republicans?

Sure. But the rules were altered. Obama was President. He had the right to have his nominee put through the process. And was denied. And Republicans will pay for that. Sorry, she's illegitimate. Deal with it.
