People ignorant to how gas and fuel prices are set really believe that too.

Or maybe it was the consumer that drove prices up and drove them back down again? Yeah, yeah...Biden did kick in some extra cash back in spring 2021 but that's probably hindsight as core inflation didn't really start cranking up until a few months later.

I have no idea what you mean by kicked in some cash. Yes, consumers do move the market, but under Trump we had the best economy in 50 years and yet never hit $3.00 a gallon on the national level.
