Biden Ahead of Schedule in Destroying US Offshore Oil Production

First the topic is destroying US Offshore Oil Production, not high gas prices.

Offshore production has not in any sense of the word been destroyed.

Texas refiners have been using heavy sour crude since we were friends with Venezuela. They switch over to the Canadian slurry, and now all that new sweet WTI is being shipped out of state for refining!

Stop the war. Drill and Build.
President Joe Biden has followed through on a campaign pledge by introducing a moratorium on new oil and gas leasing on federal lands and waters. With nearly 25 percent of U.S. oil and gas production coming from federal lands, the policy shift may have significant implications for future investment and production. The backlash from oil and gas producing states will be fierce and lawsuits have already begun, but the Biden administration views this policy as a key part of its climate agenda and is unlikely to change course.

In a January 27 executive order that introduced a sweeping, government-wide approach to climate policy, Biden announced several new oil and gas policies. The Biden administration is halting new oil and gas leasing on federal onshore lands and offshore waters “to the extent consistent with applicable law.” This pause will not affect existing operations or permits for existing leases, and private lands will not be affected. The Department of the Interior states that Native American tribal lands will be exempted. Biden has also directed the secretary of the interior to consider whether to adjust coal, oil, and gas royalties in order to account for corresponding climate costs, suggesting the possibility of a royalty increase. Biden ordered the Department of the Interior to take steps toward conserving 30 percent of public lands and waters by 2030 and toward doubling offshore wind production in the same timeframe. These moves follow executive orders that halted implementation of a leasing program in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and effectively suspended new leases, contracts, or drilling permits for at least 60 days. Biden’s January 20 executive order also withdrew the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline and directed agencies to consider new rules to curb methane emissions from oil and gas. Last, Biden has directed government agencies to work toward eliminating fossil fuel subsidies by fiscal year 2022.

If you are trying to say Biden is not responsible for the high gas price you are nuts... If Trump were still in office you would be all over him for it.... not searching the web for fake news to defend him...
Well........here you go.

The Trump administration on Monday authorized a sweeping plan to sell drilling rights and spur oil development in Alaska’s rugged Arctic refuge, setting up a possible auction by the end of 2020.

“The establishment of this program is a major milestone,” Interior Secretary David Bernhardt said in an interview. “It’s not the end of the leasing process, but it is a very, very significant milestone.”

There is crude of all thicknesses and grades... the best places for valued crude to refine has been placed off limits for drilling... also we are using more oil than we did just a few years ago when we were able to frack for natural gas....

One of the Trump administration's biggest environmental rollbacks suffered a stunning setback Wednesday, as a decades-long push to drill for oil in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge ended with a lease sale that attracted just three bidders — one of which was the state of Alaska itself.

Alaska's state-owned economic development corporation was the only bidder on nine of the parcels offered for lease in the northernmost swath of the refuge, known as the coastal plain. Two small companies also each picked up a single parcel.

Half of the offered leases drew no bids at all.
There is a leftwing war on fossil fuels and that's why gas is up at the pump....
Yes, there is........................................................in every country in the entire world.
Damned, they are GOOD.

Biden and the left are playing games with the facts... we are not energy independent like we were just two years ago... Biden has been placing rich oil deposits off limits for drilling just like Obama did....
You can find as much fake stats as you want but you are barking up the wrong tree... Everyone knows why gas is up... you are swatting at fly's....
So, the oil rich deposits are only on FEDERAL land?
You should be in the oil industry.

And yet after all of those things, and dire predictions from the Neo-Cult of Donnie, US production has increased by a million barrels a day and we are still a net exporter of petroleum products (aka energy independent).

Worst crushing of Big Oil ever.

WOW.
"private lands will not be affected".
Just keep concentrating on that 10%.
IGNORE the 90%.

"Biden has directed government agencies to work toward eliminating fossil fuel subsidies by fiscal year 2022".
SO, in Trumplandia, we need to reward the oil companies for ripping off the consumer?

Dude... a million barrels a day is nothing.... especially if it can't be refined easily into fuel.... you are being fooled...
And do not try and tell me you didn't vote for this because I'll laugh...

And still the price at my local station is over $6 a gal....
Nearly $3 more than when Trump was in office....
I laugh at your ignorance.... And your masochistic foolishness.....

And still the price at my local station is over $6 a gal....
So, I went to a concert last night and they charged me $8.00 for ONE beer.
Nearly $3 more than when Trump was in office....
Yeah, went to the same venue two years ago and that same beer cost me $7.00 for ONE beer.
THAT was Trumps fault.

I laugh at your ignorance.... And your masochistic foolishness.....
I can't even laugh at yours.

I see, so you don't support increasing US production? It represents 5% of America's total daily consumption. That's a million barrels a day less that we need to import.

The oil companies will not invest in drilling while the lefts war on them is ongoing... You have always been in favor of this so why are you now trying to say its not Biden's doing?...
You voted for Joe in part because he promised to transition us to renewables... so be honest to us and yourself.... have the balls to admit this is why you voted for Joe...

If they are not investing in drilling why has the active drilling rig count nearly tripled since bottoming out in 2020?

Labor shortage and supply shortages are slowing the growth rate of new rigs.

Sure, it's the lizard people that live in the center of the world, forcing all the governments of the world to curtail oil drilling.

Well that was pretty stupid.... want to try again?.... drilling costs money... big money and it doesn't always pay off... its a gamble especially when we have an administration bent on taking the oil industry out....

I don't think you know what you are talking about.... Biden told us he was going to crush the oil and gas industry before the stolen election... weren't you listening?.....

You all need to make up your minds about Biden.

In one thread he is a senile old man that does not know what day it is and in the next he is a mastermind that has managed to destroy the US oil industry (while giving them record profits) and who pulled off the largest heist in history by stealing the election.

So, which is it?

When we talk about your God senile Joe Biden we are taking about his puppet masters in the background... pulling his strings....

Well that was pretty stupid.... want to try again?
NO, it sums up the stupidity of republicans.

No shit.
So why bid on a lease, then apply for a drilling permit on that lease?

Because they have a pretty good idea, there is oil, there.
especially when we have an administration bent on taking the oil industry out....
Sure, keep concentrating on that 10%, the administration controls.
Ignore the 90% they don't.
