Biden Administration Rejects Ohio’s Request for Emergency Aid After Ecological Disaster

It is the MLB getting political and they took the side of the democrats, much like the NFL has.

They either bow to the DNC or get cancelled.

That is why corrupt CEO, like Bankman-Fried with FTX who stole all that money from people with crypto gave trillions to democrats.

He wanted to be left alone, and will probably avoid jail as a result.
You think MLB which includes owners like LIBERTY MEDIA, Angelos, and Ricketts are democrats?

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

I am not going to make anyone happy with what I am about to say. Yes, this sounds horrible. You have the woke zombie El Presidente outright denying FEMA assistance to a small town of poor white folks. It makes for a perfect GOP narrative. Besides, who would not put it past them? Biden and his Democrat comrades are purely horrible human beings. But I see another side here.

First, all the victims in that small town look like slip-and-fall plaintiffs. Do not underestimate the capacity of a person to turn all victimy when the right deep pocket crosses their path. This is NORFOLK SOUTHERN, for fuck's sake! A very DEEP POCKET. It is the perfect salt-of-the-earth class action scenario. Millions of injury lawyers across the nation probably spontaneously orgasmed when they heard the story.

The major risk, in my humble opinion, is water contamination. The airborn carcinogens are most likely all gone now, except for relatively small deposits that swirl up and into the air when the wind blows (which is a tiny, tiny amount, and will further subside over time). Clearly, some water treatment and filtration steps should be taken out of precaution to mitigate the situation. But most people will be ok. The one's who aren't ok may seek redress in the courts.

This is being blown out of proportion for, again, political reasons. Even Pete "The Meat" Booty-Edge got in on the act, blaming Trump. But the facts here make this a good fit for a GOP narrative about how shitty Biden and the left are (and they are, but maybe not for this reason).

You know damn well lawyers will eat a big chunk out of a class action

You are really a dumb ass. If you think this is not an environmental catastrophe, please swim in the poison plume in the Ohio River.

Just Moments After Trump Declares Trip to East Palestine, FEMA Announces Reversal on Ohio Disaster Aid

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg earlier blamed the Trump administration for the train derailment, while claiming he was powerless to do more to prevent it. But a Biden official on Thursday called out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for spreading “misinformation” about his dodging of responsibility for the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio and his blame of former President Donald Trump.
Buttigieg claimed on Tuesday he is “constrained by law on some areas of rail regulation” and then cited a “braking rule” that was removed in 2018 during the Trump administration.

Not only as Biden and Buttigieg been hun out to dry on this incident. All it took was DJT to say he was going to visit East Palestine. Biden blinked....

East Palestine, Ohio train wreck: It's the dioxin

It's not just what was in the tanker cars. It's what happens when they burn and combine. This may be the largest dioxin plume in world history. I know of no more serious release, ever.

While vinyl chloride is a precursor chemical to making PVC, any time chlorinated compounds burn there will be dioxins created. And dioxin is a byproduct of any manufacturing process involving chlorine, from “disinfectants” to the bleaching of paper. There was plenty of dioxin in those tanker cars before they caught fire.
This mess of 14 tanker cars (really, many more, but 14 had vinyl chloride) was then set on fire with authorization by the government, apparently to make it easier to clear the railroad tracks. This was the worst possible decision. It has turned many, many miles into what should be no-man’s land. But I have not heard of one single test for dioxin being done.

Commentary:
The EPA as created the largest Superfund site in the world. Once more exemplifying their incompetence.

Biden Administration Rejects Ohio’s Request for Emergency Aid After Ecological Disaster

16 Feb 2023 ~~ By Kyle Becker

The Biden administration is rejecting a request for federal disaster assistance from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine in the aftermath of the train derailment and ecological disaster that has devastated the area around East Palestine, Ohio.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) told Ohio’s state government that it was not eligible for disaster assistance, a spokesperson for DeWine told Fox News Digital on Thursday. The Dewine spokeseman explained that FEMA believed the incident qualified as a traditional disaster, such as a tornado or hurricane, for which it usually provides assistance. “The DeWine Administration has been in daily contact with FEMA to discuss the need for federal support, however FEMA continues to tell Governor DeWine that Ohio is not eligible for assistance at this time,” DeWine’s office said in an earlier statement. “Governor DeWine will continue working with FEMA to determine what assistance can be provided.”
FEMA merely said its team is in constant communication with DeWine’s office, but did not remark on the disaster relief.

Rogan O’Handley had his own theory on why the Biden administration won’t lift a finger to help the Ohio residents.

“Just in case you were wondering why Biden and Buttigieg are ignoring the toxic chemical spill in East Palestine, Ohio,” O’Handley remarked. “Columbiana County voted 71.7% for Trump in 2020.”

If the Biden administration’s behavior during the Covid pandemic is any indication, then it will bend over backwards to protect big corporate interests. Meanwhile, environmental activists like Al Gore and Greta Thunberg have been very silent about the Ohio ecological disaster. Something is rotten in Ohio — and it’s not just the dead fish.

Commentary:
More interesting comparison, since Buttigieg says there are 1000 of these derailments a year... how many in the past have resulted in FEMA aid? No one is disputing the number, they are claiming none compare to what's happened in East Palestine.
It’s the American Chernobyl. The only difference is that our President and is Merry Maoist Democrats are giving the poor people there the middle finger for not being in the right club.
Although there is some similarity to the EPA ecological disaster in 2015 at the Gold King Mine. The EPA never cleaned up their disaster and people down stream in towns, cities and especially on reservations and were poisoned by those waters from the mine.
See: Five years after Gold King Mine spill, water quality remains a concern
