Why is it under the BERNARD plan for healthcare, his own website brings prices in line by cutting compensation to doctors and hospitals. This accounts for a significant cut in costs, and helps in his mind to make the total outlay of funds more palatable.

BUT, when it comes to education, there is no downward pressure placed on the learning institutions, nor the vehicles (profs) who dispense the product? In fact in some instances, he is demanding a raise for these people!

Now, we know why this is, but the Left has no leg to stand on for this. He is in no way forcing the distributors to LOWER their costs, he is basically writing a taxpayer blank check to them.

That's part of it. But the other part is not to make loans that you think the borrowers isn't going to make good on too. When its the taxpayers' money it sometimes seems easy just to cut the check instead of giving the prospective borrower the 3rd degree and trying to make the loan secure. If someone wants to borrow money to pursue a degree in Lesbian Literature, they should definitely be required to have collateral and/or cosigners.

no k-12 is not free. People pay through property taxes or taxes the general local populace have to buy like license plates, or personal property stickers. No, for the umpteenth millionth time, nothing is ever free. STOP!!!!!!!!! the insanity of FREEE!!!!!!!

We sent our sons to a private school. The school was always rated one of the top in the county and always ahead of any of the public schools.

The cost per student for that school (1990s dollars) was $2100 a year. Back then the cost per student in the public school system was $4800.

Actually a lot of people don't pay school tax, as you have to own real estate to get assessed for it.

That's the one thing which they need to change. Even if you don't pay school tax, you still get to vote for it, the school districts need to implement a head tax so that a lot more voters have to pony up for it.
