1. Comparing the Tea Party movement with the Occupy Wall Street protests is like comparing patriotism with communism. Arrests at a Tea Party rally? Heaven forfend. On Saturday alone, New York police had to arrest 700 Occupy Wall Street protesters

2. One movement came from the people. The other is a union/socialist worker front that even has a New York City firm working its public relations.

3. From Nobel laureate Paul Krugman on April 12, 2009: “Last but not least: it turns out that the tea parties don’t represent a spontaneous outpouring of public sentiment. They’re AstroTurf (fake grass roots) events, manufactured by the usual suspects.

4. From Nicholas Kristof today: “Occupy Wall Street was initially treated as a joke, but after a couple of weeks it’s gaining traction. The crowds are still tiny by protest standards — mostly in the hundreds, swelling during periodic marches — but similar occupations are bubbling up in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Washington. David Paterson, the former New York governor, dropped by, and labor unions are lending increasing support.”

5. From the New York Daily News:

The revolution will be publicized.

The Occupy Wall Street movement got a pro-bono boost last week from a not-so-underground source: a Manhattan public relations firm.

The largely anonymous protesters who’ve clogged Zucotti Park near the World Trade Center for the last two weeks—and who, on Saturday swarmed the Brooklyn Bridge—received what sources tell us was an unsolicited email blast from empathetic members of Workhouse Publicity.

The Chelsea-based PR firm — which, according to its website has worked with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Interview magazine, filmmaker Tim Burton, Bergdorf Goodmanand Saks Fifth Avenue — sent out the message, titled “Occupy Wall Street: News from the Front” to a number of media outlets, socialites and celebrities on Wednesday.

6. Interesting list of clientele. Wonder how much the unions are paying the PR company for its pro bono work.

But why pay for anything when the milk from the New York Times is free?

From Paul Joseph Watson: “Occupy Wall Street Protesters Call For Totalitarian Government, Re-Election Of Obama.”

"The ignorance displayed in these interviews knows no bounds. The protesters just don’t get it. They are calling for the government to use force to impose their ideas, all in the name of bringing down corporations who they don’t realize have completely bought off government regulators. Corporations and government enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship – getting one to regulate the other is asinine and only hurts smaller businesses who are legitimately trying to compete in a free market economy that barely exists.

The zeal for totalitarian government amongst some of the “protesters” is shocking. One sign being carried around read, “A government is an entity which holds the monopolistic right to initiate force,” which seems a little ironic when protesters complain about being physically assaulted by police in the same breath.

One woman interviewed by Kokesh also announces her intention to help Obama to capture a second term. How can a self-proclaimed Occupy Wall Street protester simultaneously support the man whose 2008 campaign was bankrolled by Wall Street, whose 2012 campaign is reliant on Wall Street to an even greater extent, and whose cabinet was filled with Wall Street operatives?

Something is very wrong with this picture.

The usual suspects, mega-rich foundations and elitists, behind the young radicals have also started to emerge – George Soros, The Ruckus Society, the Tides Foundation and the Ford Foundation.

“The belated crusade against Wall Street is even more pathetic as it is coordinated by groups who wouldn’t exist without men like Soros, who made their money from deals that make the Street look sparkling clean. It’s class warfare as a cynical jab at the populist center, the people who mutter to themselves that the Street is full of crooks and so is Congress,” writes Daniel Greenfield."

Just as I thought.

This is all in support of Barry's class warfare bs.

The bozo can't run on his sucky record so he thinks this kind of bs is gonna get him re-elected??

Jeeze. All anyone has to do is listen to the interviews with some of these nitwits to know they ain't the sharpest knieves in anyones drawyer and they don't have a clue how an economy works.

I saw one woman interviewed yesterday on FOX. She was an older well dressed woman. Very articulate. She thought it was wonderful. Of course she did. She's a communist.

The occupiers don't have a real message right now. All they have is a tantrum of demands. They are adding people to the cause. The message won't happen until later.

What's really stupid is that these occupiers actually expect that the big, totalitarian dictatorship they envision as beneficial will be worse than anything they could have thought of.

Is that Van Jones predicted "october offensive" we are supposed to dread? The Tea Party people wave American Flags. The left wing doped out lazy bums occupying Wall Street engage in civil disobedience. Listen to the all over the place "reasons" for the demonstration promoted by intelligent left wingers like Juan Williams. "The young people are under-employed". What do they want an executive position right out of college? The left wonders what the hell is going on just like the rest of us but they see it as a campaign boost for Barry Hussein's crazy class warfare policies so they go along with it.

... and they notion that teabaggers don't get arrested just isn't true

Wow. i was reading this paragraph thinking "yeah, she's right. corporations do buy off regulators. Government and big corp are in bed together. Something needs to be done!" - then you didn't say what you think should be done about it.

Based on what the Tea Party mutated into, once the GOP rightwing got a death grip on it, it's probably fair to say that a genuinely populist movement now bears no resemblance to the bible thumping corporatists in the Tea Party establishment.

You're such a partisan hack I'm beginning to suspect you're CrusaderFrank in drag.

In earlier times, the appelliation "racist" meant "conservative who was winning the argument."

Of course, today, the screed du jour is "partisan hack," but the meaning remains the same.

As I am in an accepting mood, and to advance your misguided belief that you actually have anything to add to an adult discussion, I will feign deep thought, as though your had not simply regurgitated your usual bird-brained twaddle.
Proceed. (Yawn.)

Tea Party, patriots? More like Theocrats.

They want a Christian Monarchy. Something like what the Saudi's have..expect a different religion.

Not possible to answer in less than book length....to which I often aspire.

It might be a good thread...if you phrase the question well.

i'm sure feigning deep thought comes to you as naturally as breathing at this point.

to have the queen of cut and paste accuse someone else of "simply regurgitated your usual bird-brained twaddle." satisfies the MDA for unintended irony for at least a month.

oh, and you should look up the definition of screed.

make that two months

yes...but the media AND the democratic party and their supporters portrayed the tea partyers as angry, uncivil and racist.

And the wall street protesters are being portrayed by the media as enthusiastic, energized and motivated.

Yet of the tens of thosuands of tea partyers and dozens of ralleys...you came up with 10 arrests.

And of the one group of protestors on wall street, there were hundreds of arrests.

Go figure.

I've seen quite a few of these Wall Street protesters on Fox News and listened to what they all have said when interviewed. They all seem like a bunch of crack pot slackers with no purpose in life to me. So far I haven't heard an intelligent word muttered from any of them.

I did not know Political Chic is running for office.

How dare she cite anything deemed as an issue without a solution!

Yeah, Doggy...and Grateful Dead fans, too, I bet!

I saw the Fox News guy interviewing the geniuses who proudly announced how they were opposed to capitalism...
...but when he asked what they would replace it with.....silence.

I have seen them first hand...face to face.
Most are civil...and just enjoiying the ride.
Many are what we all saw in college....in it for the fun of it.

I noticed something...very few people between the ages of about 25 and 65.....looks like mostly kids and retirtees.

I look at some of the signs and I need to laugh.

They wasnt to eliminate capitalism.......I wonder what their parents will feel when they lose their jobs becuase capitalism is outlawed.
