Banning Russian Oil Will Just Spread Ukrainian Severe Pain To Americans!

Those members of Congress preparing legislation to ban in America the purchase of Russian oil and not guaranteeing replacing that oil with U.S. produced oil should be ashamed of themselves. In effect what they will be doing is increasing severe financial pain on American families due to increased cost to fill their cars with gasoline, and increased gas and electric bills because carbon fuels move in tandem; when the price of oil goes up so does natural gas and coal. In effect what this legislation would do is make these Washington politicians feel and look good at the expense of ordinary Americans. Any competent legislator could draft legislation dramatically increasing oil and natural gas production in the U.S. but Washington legislators don't want to do it because it would unleash a backlash from the incredibly powerful anti-carbon fuel lobby in America and costs Democrats and moderate Republicans that vote for such legislation their seat in Congress in large numbers. This nation wide embarrassment dysfunction of Washington right now where millions of Ukrainians are experiencing the carnage and horror of World War II and Congress cannot put together and pass a joint import oil ban and an increased domestic oil production bill is just another compelling reason why America needs to change their constitution to fix Washington. America needs to limit Senators to two terms, House Members to five; draw congressional districts by algorithm with compactness of districts being the controlling factor and limit financial contributions in elections using money in elections is not equivalent to free speech. You opportunists in Congress behind this legislation you will likely succeed in your Russian oil ban and it won't make a damn bit of difference because countries like India and China will continue to buy lake size quantities of Russian oil!

There are no sanctions on Russian oil. You know that,

Never said there were or are. The subject is being actively discussed. And if it happenes, we will be a byproduct of hurting Russia. So, acording to Buttigieg, Iran is being looked at. They need cash for nukes.

If we ever want to be truly free of the ability of dictators to blackmail us over oil and gas, we should be investing right here at home in renewable energy technologies. We should be weaning ourselves off fossil fuels so that this situation that we’re in does not happen again, in terms of feeling like we can’t stop Russian oil and gas imports because it’s going to drive up prices here at home. By the way, no matter what we do, prices of gas are going to go up. So, any Republicans who try to say that it’s drill, baby, drill, and that solves the problem, it’s wrong. That is not the case. Banning Russian oil (when most of Russia’s economy is based on oil) will not spread Ukraine’s pain to the US. Ukraine’s pain is war, mass deaths, violent destruction of infrastructure, homes etc. By very stark contrast, the US would likely feel only some economic disruptions.

HOWEVER, the sanction on Russia might persuade either Putin or the other Russian leaders to end the Russian war in Ukraine. I don’t want to sound like a Brandon supporter, but if this sanctions stuff works, I’ll be the first to offer a public congratulations to him; and acknowledge my error in doubting the efficacy of sanctions, sanctions, sanctions.
