Bank of America joins big US Banks refusing to finance drilling in Arctic Refuge

I hope you are right. The sun shines bright in Florida almost 365 days a year. Would be nice having NO electric bills. LOL
The reason solar seems to be expanding is because the government is subsidizes it

without massive giveaways solar would be a sick puppy

The government does and has long subsidized oil also.

The government does and has long subsidized oil also.

How?

Fossil Fuel Subsidies & Finance - Oil Change International

The most glaring is the trillions wasted on wars to protect the petro-dollar.

Not taking money from oil companies is the same thing.

Ships must pay to use our waterways. Oil is excluded.

Thanks. Much better.

Except for LIHEAP and the "domestic manufacturing" deduction, those all look like deductions for business expenses.

Specifically targeted to oil production that others don't get.

It's true, oil production has expenses that telecommunications, software and others don't have.

Which oil production business expenses should not be deducted? Why?

They should have to pay to ship their product just like everyone else has to.

They get to ship oil for free? Sweet!!

How do tanker and pipeline companies make money?

What page of your link was this subsidy on?

I've already explained this and you've already read it.

You haven't posted a link that explains your free shipping claim.

Yes I have. You just wish to spin.

Someone will come along and finance it, and they will make billions of dollars as a result...
Only if gas is sold at $4 bucks a gallon will they make billions. With gas being as cheap as it is and with California banning the sale of internal combustion driven vehicles by 2035 ( the rest of the west coast states will follow along) there isn`t really a big demand for gas these days. People working from home aren`t buying much gas either.

Well, the western United States is batshit crazy.

As for people workinig from home, in the grand scheme of things, that's a bump in the road. It's temporary. I drive all over Florida and southern Georgia regularly and, I can assure you, there's no great shortage of cars on the roads...

Working from home is temporary? No. Electric and hybrid cars have taken a bite out of oil sales too and that will only grow.
Major companies talking about permanent work-from-home positions (cnbc.com)

There are countless jobs which can't be done from home.

Sure, there's a good chance that many white collar jobs will be "work from home". But I don't know of too many blue collar jobs where that could be possible.

As for hybrid and electric vehicles, I probably see 1,000 gas powered vehicles on the road for ever one hybrid or electric vehicle.

There's been no bite taken out of oil sales. It's but a nibble...
