I've read a lot of threads over the years about automation taking over lots of industries. Crazy to see how some of you, older generations I'm sure, hate automation. Just hate it with a passion. Call it liberal, call it lazy dems machines, call it what you want, I call it capitalism.

Sure, capitalism has ups and downs. One of the down sides is when you're a business owner, you try to make money. If I pay 3 employees $30,000 a year for basic entry level labor, that's $90,000 a year labor costs (closer to$105,000 after ins and withholding). So, I opt to buy a machine that costs $250,000 (plus more for upkeep) and after few years it pays for itself and now I'm money ahead every year, ie, profit!

Some of you look at it and say, great! American dream, making money, buying machines, contributing to the economy. Others (US message board members) say, commie socialist scumbag, fuck you, go suck Bidens dick!

I realize that in turn I don't have the 3 entry level grunts working anymore, but isn't that what they are, entry level? Arent I supposed to tell them to fuck off if they want something more than minimum wage? Why the double standard?

Only on US message board can you be applauded for being a capitalist, then get shit on by the same person for being a capitalist. Crazy.

Oh please, the socialists are everywhere, totally prepared to shit on you for not goose-stepping with them. Billions of humans all around the world would LOVE to emigrate to America and freedom which half of Americans spit upon - the Left half.

That's not a bug, it's a feature.

Automation began The Industrial Revolution ... it's the best friend Capitalism ever had.

And you don't have to deal with all the people issues.

Automation was and is anti-Marxist and pro-capitalist.
  • For Karl Marx the whole Industrial Revolution simply consisted of the exploitation of the workers by the capitalists.(More...)
  • The working conditions in factories during the Industrial Revolution were appalling, workers had no basic rights, and there was no universal suffrage.(More...)
  • A sociologist named Karl Marx broke down the people into two categories the bourgeoisie, the owners of means of production, and the proletariat, those individuals who must sell their labor to the bourgeoisie.(More...)
  • In this lesson, we will discuss the difference between socialism and capitalism, how Karl Marx believed that social class dictated one's social life and who were the bourgeoisie and proletariat.(More...)
  • The onset of the Industrial Revolution marked a major turning point in human social history, comparable to the invention of farming or the rise of the first city-states ; almost every aspect of daily life and human society was, eventually, in some way influenced by it.(More...)

Maybe it was too much in one post, I'm saying I'm for automation. I'm for capitalism. But others who are also "for capitalism" and growing business tend to have a lot of shitty comments about growing thru automation. Add a robot in a machine shop to feed aluminum stock? I'm the asshole commie now taking away your job.

But I think some of you took my post wrong, or I wrote it wrong.

to the extent of its purchasing power, our federal minimum wage rate reduces incidences and extent of poverty among our nation’s working-poor. That’s its purpose and justification.

The applicable minimum wage rate is not almost entirely applicable to just Teenagers or just workers on their first jobs. The applicable minimum rate directly or (due to employers’ wage differential practices), almost directly affects ALL employees earning within the lowest bracket of wage rates; that over 30% 0f USA’s entire work force.

The wage rates of the poorest national economies have the least purchasing powers. Automation is not justified when human labor is available, can accomplish the tasks just as well, and at costs that do not exceed automation’s costs. Unsurprisingly, the poorest nations are the slowest to adopt advances in automation.

Automation is justified when it can produce consistently better products and/or products at lesser costs. Automation has always been to our nation’s net benefit.

To argue against higher wages because they encourage automation, is to argue in favor of poverty. I’m a USA voter 83 years of age and a firm advocate of minimum wage rates and of automation. Respectfully, Supposn

ToddsterPatriot, Refer to:
The Effects on Employment and Family Income of Increasing the Federal Minimum Wage (cbo.gov)
page 17, figure 6, graph entitled “Shares of Workers, by Family Income Group, 2025”.

The graph indicates low wage rate earning employees that are members of families of incomes less than two times their poverty thresholds, are 36% of all USA’s employees earning rates within that low-wage rate bracket and 15% of USA’s entire workforce.
The graph also indicates families of incomes less than three times their poverty thresholds, are over 56% of all USA’s employees earning rates within that low-wage rate bracket and 32% of USA’s entire workforce.

Do you have one that actually supports your claim?

ToddsterPatriot, your posts are consistent with your avatar. You choose to flaunt your lack of reasonably good judgement and logic.

in our town we went full capitalism!

we automated everything so we can keep more of our money without having to pay any employees!

seemed to be working pretty good at first...i kept getting richer and richer...

till the day the people stopped buying my products....

noone had any jobs!

so noone had any money!

and we dont believe in socialism so we dont have welfare

now i own the whole town full of useless lazy free loaders who refuse to work and expect me to give them free stuff!

What you describe as my ‘claims’ are U.S. Congressional Budget Office’s considered and explicitly stated opinions.

Anynameyouwish, I suppose your post's a joke. But it’s true, I would suggest divesting yourself from your commercial interests in what you believe to be your town, and investing elsewhere. There must be many other entrepreneurs that would be willing to purchase your interests in “your town”, if your price was right.
