There is always a chance another GOP candidate could take away his spot as the nominee. Us conservatives see Trump there for 7 years, then followed by a "President Pence". But lets say for "Future Reasons Unknown",,Mike Pence either steps down, or Trump asks him to step down for the sake of saving his Presidency and all polls show a Trump/Haley ticket winning in a landslide, and then Pence can work on his 2024 Presidential Campaign.

Very unusual, it's happened a handful of times in American history (4 that I can think of) but hasn't happened since Wallace was dumped from the ticket in favor of Truman at the Democratic Convention in 1944 (FDR was at the top of the ticket).
